The Biker’s Mafia Princess (Angel and Savage) novel Chapter 2

Rebel POV.

Staring down at the men and women as they all take out their weapons. I hold my hands up.

“What are you doing?” Candy’s voice is in my ear and I know she is devising a plan to get us out of here.

“Release them now!” the man in the front says to me and I cock my head to the side and look at him.

“You heard him girls, let them go.” I say chuckling and the girls laugh and shove the three prisoners to the floor, grabbing their guns and we open fire. There is no finesse in this. Each bullet lands and hits the target.

We move forward as more come out of adjacent rooms. What should have been a routine hit has turned into a mass slaughter. Fuck!

“Girls, you need to get out in the next thirty seconds. You have inbound.” Candy says in my ear and I look at the girls and they nod as we use everything we have.

“We can’t get through. We need to retreat.” I say to them when the first blast rocks the building.

“GET OUT NOW!” Candy shouts, as the walls vibrate and people scream and run. We turn and run to the three prisoners and drag them up, and they run behind us in their drugged state. Another blast hits the building. We move fast, dragging them behind as we find the emergency exit. We are all coughing as we make it outside because of the debris and smoke.

The SUV and a van pull up to a stop. Alessa and my mom get out of the van and run towards us.

“Get them in the back.” Alessa says and I just give her a look that tells her I’m pissed, I’m more than pissed, I’m fuming. We shove them inside the van and Cleo and Skylar get to work tying them all up and knock them out completely. I run to the SUV and climb in with my mom and Alessa. We peel out of there with the van behind us.

“Take them to the headquarters.” Alessa says into her earpiece as the van splits off in a different direction.

“Oh god Rebel, are you ok?” my mom is fussing and I look at her in shock. She is checking me for injuries when she gasps. “You’ve been shot.” She says and I look down and she gets to work to stop the bleeding.

“Mom, it’s a graze. I’m OK,” I say to her, but she is not listening.

“Mom, stop. I’m ok.”

“No, you’re not. You have been shot, again. This is my fault. I should have never agreed for you to do this. I’m sorry Rebel, let me fix it.” She says as she adds pressure to the graze and I hiss as Alessa helps her patch me up. I’ve had worse than this, especially during training. The emotions are trained out of you. You never feel pain, so seeing my mom like this is something new to me and it hurts to see her frantic as she tries to fix me.

I take her hand in mine; she stops and looks at me and I smile at her.

“It’s ok mom, see it has stopped bleeding.” It hasn’t, but I won’t tell her that.

“Rebel, I know all about GSWs. Did you forget who our family is?” She says, shaking her head, and she carries on. We arrive at the compound and the SUV comes to a stop.

“There, you will be sore for a few days. Just take it easy.” She says as she kisses my cheek and I chuckle at this.
