Angel POV.
Today has been a shitshow. I’m sitting on the front step with a bottle of bud in my hand when I noticed a dark van drive past the house. My uncles are staying with Vinnie and Emma, and Scar is renting a house not too far away.
When we got back, I just needed time to get my head around what happened today, how he fucking tried to defend that cunt. How is he too fucking blind to see what she is? I scoff as I bring the bottle to my lips. She must have a pussy made of solid fucking gold.
I pull my gun out of the back of my pants and place it next to me. I always hated guns, but my parents made sure we knew how to use them that as well as self-defence training. Always expect the un-expected. She would tell us and boy, did I not see this coming.
I drain the bottle and just sit there waiting for the universe to correct itself. The sound of an engine driving down the street pulls me out of my thoughts as I see the van again. This time it slows as the side door slides open and gun fire starts.
Fuck, I leap down grabbing my gun and roll up onto my knees and open fire hitting the van and a man as tyres squeal and I’m up. I keep firing as I run towards the road. I turn and see another van and bikes. REBEL! I turn and run back to the house as gun fires hits the house.
Glass shatters and wood splinters as I run as fast as I can to get to my daughter.
Bullets whizz past me, grazing my arm as I run up the stairs and into Rebel’s room. I grab her up and run to my room. She is screaming at the sound. Blood tricking down my arm as I move with her in my hold.
“BOOMER, PRENDILI! (Get them)” I scream as I carry Rebel to the bathroom and put her in the bath.
“Shhh, baby, mommy is here. It will be ok.” I say as I rip the bathroom cabinet off the wall and see the safe, I punch in the code and pull the gun and ammunition out loading the gun as I stand by the bath waiting for someone to enter the bathroom. When the door opens as she screams and I fire.
The man goes down. I see the cut and the fucking snake. I check the room and it’s clear. I grab Rebel up in my arms and run with her through the house. I check everywhere as Rebel sobs into my shoulder.
“It’s ok baby, it’s ok they’ve gone. You’re safe.” I say, cooing at her and kissing her head. I look around the living room and the windows have been shot to hell, glass, and bullets on the floor and in the walls.
“BOOMER!” I shout and he runs into the house. I sigh in relief as I hear sirens in the distance. I walk through what remains of the living room to the front door. I step out with my gun in my hand and my daughter clinging to me like a koala, shaking and sobbing. She is hysterical. I calm her down as I move away from the house to the sidewalk.
Many questions from the police as we are placed in the back of an ambulance with a blanket wrapped around us. I’ve got a graze on my arm, but that’s it. Rebel is unharmed, but she is in shock.
The rumble of bikes makes me feel nothing but relief, as I know it will be the Princes Of Darkness. Just as a car door slams shut.
“ANGEL, REBEL!” I turn my head to see Savage looking frantically at the house when Rebel shouts at her father, and he turns. I see the relief on his face as he runs to us. He checks us both over.
“What happened?” he asks, looking me in the eye and I feel rage take over within me. Angry tears line my eyes. This ends now!
“The Viper’s. That’s what happened!” I snap at him and I see it in him he fucking snaps. I know that look, because it’s the same look Rebel has when she is about to go off.
“Angel.” I turn my head and see my uncles, Vinnie, and a petite blonde with him. She must be Emma. Then I see Scar as she runs towards us all.
“I’m fine, we’re fine. There is one dead in the doorway of my ensuite in my bedroom. The cameras on the house should have picked up the van and what happened. I told the police we will deal with this in house. No holds barred.” I say as I stand with Rebel in my arms.
“Where are you going?” Savage stops me and Rebel reaches for him and I hand her to him and he holds her tight and kisses her all over her little head and face. She giggles.
