It is already night time and Amber and Rafael is in the library, after they had their dinner, Rafael showed her around the house. As she already knew which room is which on the first floor, Rafael made her familiarize herself on the second floor.
There are three bedrooms in the second floor—the master’s bedroom, which is Rafa’s, and two guest rooms. Then his study room, and there is even a theatre room and the wide library.
“Have you found something?” He asked.
“Yep.” Amber happily answered and showed him a book. “Since you’ve been gone by Carlene Thompson.”
“Nice pick. My mom loves that book.” Rafael said.
“Really?” Her eyes grew wider in shock.
“Uh-huh. She read that countless of times.” Rafael answered.
“Then it must be a great book, then.” Amber said. “My mom also used to read this, but when I was about to start reading it…” She sighed.
“Why? What happened?” He asked.
“My mom died.” She answered, sadness was visible on her lovely face. He waited for her to continue talking but she remained quiet and stared at the book. He knew that there’s more to it but he doesn’t want to ask his wife. He’ll wait until she’s ready to open herself to him, full. “By the way, where are your parents?” Amber asked, changing the subject.
“They’re happily travelling around the globe.” Rafael shrugged. “The last time I heard from them, they’re in Greece.” He said.
“Are you not in contact with them?” Amber asked frowning.
“I actually want to be in contact with them but they’re the ones who doesn’t want to be disturbed.” Rafael sighed. “When they’re in Japan, I kept calling them every now and then to ask if they’re okay because there’s a strong typhoon there, and my mom got pissed.” He said. “She told me that it’s okay if I called them every now and then to ask if they’re okay but what is not okay is that to call them every 30 minutes.” He laughed.
Amber smiled upon hearing his story, he must really love and value his parents. And if he’s like that then he can be a good father to their child.
“That is why I never got the chance to tell them that I got married.” He shrugged.
“They must be really happily inlove with each other.” She said.
“Yeah and I’m happy for them.” Rafael said as he stares on his wife’s innocent face. And I am hoping that we can work out our marriage, but that would not happen if I don’t know who you really are. You are too different when it comes to money… could it be that you’re hiding something?
“Rafa…” Amber called out his name.
“Hmmm?”
“Bake me some chocolate chips.” Amber orders making his jaw dropped.
“What?” He asked in shocked.
“I said, I want chocolate chips and you should bake some for me.” Amber said. “And don’t dare to ask someone, I want you to bake it.”
“Fine.” Rafael sighed. “I guess, I should be thankful for my mom on forcing me to learn how to bake.” Rafael said and pinched the tip of her nose.
“Hmm… I’ll help you.” Amber said with glistering eyes. He didn’t say no because she might throw a tantrum.
“Then, let’s go.” He said and held her hand. “Do you want it sweet or not too sweet?” He asked when they entered the kitchen.
“Not too sweet.” Amber answered.
“Do you need something, Maám, sir?” Dina asked, who just finished cleaning the kitchen.
“It’s okay, Dina. You can go and sleep.” Amber said. Dina nodded leave them on the kitchen.
“Hon, we don’t have enough ingredients.” Rafael said whose face can’t be read; he opened the cabinets and drawers but still no avail.
“Is that so…” Amber said. “It’s okay, let’s just have it next time.” She added as she opens the refrigerator to fine something to eat but to no avail. There are foods and snacks but she doesn’t want to eat it yet.
“Do you want to go out and look for chocolate chips?” Rafael asked.
“No need, it’s already late.” She said as she opened the drawer and saw a chocolate syrup. She grabbed it and an idea crossed her mind.
“Where will you use that?” Rafael asked frowning. She seducingly smiled and approached him.
“On you.” She whispered and bit his ear.
“Rafaaa!” Amber called her husband. “Is it still not cooked?” She asked. “I already emptied my plate.” She acted like a child.
