Chapter 729
After Griffon left, Taya hurriedly got up and went to the
master bedroom to look for Harper.
Seeing Harper sitting at the dressing table, staring at the
documents in her hand in a daze, she raised her hand and
knocked on the door.
“what are you looking at?”
Hearing the knock on the door, Harper quickly put away the file folder that Silas had given her earlier and placed it in a
drawer.
Silas once asked Harper to give the file folder to Taya on her mating ceremony day, so Harper would not tell Taya in
advance.
Taya naturally saw Harper’s panic, but instead of asking about it, she said, “I’ve bought a villa next door to you.”
Harper just wanted to say that instead of buying a villa, it was better for Taya to live with her, but before she could say anything, she suddenly understood Taya’s intention.
It occurred to Harper that perhaps Taya was worried that the
Knight pack would look down on her when they came, so she prepared a villa for herself to get mated in.
It was troublesome to mate a man from a wealthy and prominent pack. But luckily, Taya had a talent for design and could earn millions with just one drawing. This alone could silence the criticism of others, unlike her who had no talent and could only run a nightclub where everyone looked down on her.
Harper was a little distracted, suddenly remembering that she would never have the chance to mate a man from a
prominent pack and that she should be content to be a
nightclub owner with just a high school diploma.
At the thought, Harper became confident again, reaching out her hand and pulling Taya to sit beside her.
“By the way, speaking of dowry, I plan to give you 50% of the shares in my nightclub, and also transfer all my liquid assets and real estate that I’ve accumulated over the years to you…”
Taya recalled that when Harper got mated for the first time, she only gave Harper about $200,000.
Later, when Taya followed Neil to Washington, Harper quietly gave back the $200,000 that was mixed in with the 1 million
dollars to her.
If she had not made money through her sister’s project and forcibly given the one million back to Harper, Harper might not have accepted it.
Now Taya was deeply moved that Harper was willing to use her entire fortune to help her.
She took Harper’s arm, and said softly to her, “These are the foundations of you, you need them. I will figure out a way for the dowry.””
There was still almost two months until Valentine’s Day. She could have made a lot of money if she had drawn more designs for the projects her sister left behind.
Although it was not worth mentioning compared to what Griffon had given, it was all she could afford.
Harper still tried to persuade Taya, but Taya suddenly straightened up and ran out anxiously.
“Hey, where are you going?”
Without looking back, Taya ran downstairs to the study, “I’ve been disappeared for more than half a year, Neil must have sent a lot of messages, I have to call him back!”
Coming out after her, Harper rushed to explain, “I told him about you, he knew!”
Taya had already run into the study, so she didn’t even hear what Harper had said and hurried to find her phone.
She remembered that the phone was on the table when she was kidnapped by the man with the scar. Where had it gone
now?
Just as she was about to leave the study to ask Mandy, she suddenly saw her phone sitting intact on the bookshelf.
She quickly picked up her phone, went back to her desk, charged it, turned it on quickly, and opened WhatsApp…
Just logged in, the messages from Neil flooded in one after another, overwhelming and difficult to keep up with.
Holding the phone in her hand, Taya waited for the message notification to stop at 99+, then tapped in one by one to read…
At first, Neil did send requests from the project owners. Seeing that she did not reply every time, it gradually changed to:
“Are you still alive?”
“Say something if you’re still alive.”
“Are you okay?”
“You want me to call you to offer my condolences?”
“No, international calls are very expensive.”
A pile of unimportant text, Taya swiped them away and scrolled down to the last message.
“Oh, I heard that you’ve kidnapped by Amon, I’d like to offer a slight expression of my sympathy, and, my deepest
condolences.”
In other words, Neil knew that she was kidnapped by Amon, so he stopped sending her messages, but….
At least he was Amon’s friend, he knew she had been kidnapped and not only did he not come to her rescue, he asked her to accept his condolences. It was really outrageous!
Taya was furious and immediately opened her contacts to call
Neil.
While crouching on the construction site and surveying it, Neil suddenly jumped up from the ground upon hearing the pleasant ringtone of the phone that had remained silent in his pocket for six months.
He took off his dusty gloves and happily took out his phone,
smiling when he saw it was Taya calling, “Hey Taya, I’m glad to
see you’re alive.”
