Chapter 69
“Johnny, don’t come to help me when I’m in conflict with others in the future,” Alina said firmly, her voice filled with determination.
She wanted to make it clear that she didn’t want to owe Johnny anything. It was best for both of them to keep their distance.
Plus, Johnny’s white shirt faintly showed a bloodstain again, as if his wounds had reopened. It was a stark reminder of the risks he had taken to help her.
She knew that Johnny had helped her on three separate occasions, and he got injured each time.
Johnny frowned, his face twisted with a mix of confusion and frustration. He couldn’t understand why this seemingly ungrateful woman would think that he had helped in the wrong way.
“What, is this your way of fishing for attention? Do you want to see other men go crazy for you?” he blurted out, his tone laced with an inexplicable unhappiness.
Alina’s voice turned cold and relentless. “My life is none of your business. Thanks for this time. In any case, stay away from me next time!”
After saying that, Alina prepared to leave.
But Johnny followed behind her.
Alina stopped abruptly, turning to face him with a wary expression. “What are you doing?” she asked, her voice tinged with caution.
Johnny enraged, extended his arm, pulling up the sleeve of his shirt to reveal the bandaged forearm, showing the blood- soaked bandages.
“I’m injured to save you. Shouldn’t you invite me up for a cup of coffee and help me bandage it?” Johnny said as he stared at Alina’s face.
That was absolutely not allowed!
Danny was still at home. Alina wouldn’t let him witness Johnny’s injury.
“I am not skilled at bandaging, and don’t you have your own doctor?”
“Ms. Chavez, are you resisting me coming to your house because you have a man hidden there?” Johnny casually said.
Alina thought for a moment. There was indeed a little boy at home.
So she nodded, admitting openly, “Yes, there is one hidden.”
Now Johnny had nothing to say. According to Alina’s style, it was not impossible for her to keep a gigolo at home.
After thinking about it, Alina took out her wallet, pulled out some bills, and stuffed them into Johnny’s arms. “Medical expenses!”
After giving the money to him, Alina left gracefully, leaving behind a disgruntled Johnny and the sarcastic money.
Alina had given him money on both occasions, the last time and this time, as he had saved her.
Were medical expenses more expensive than his staying with her for an entire night?
At the police station, Kennard was detained for harassment.
