Chapter 110
There were a handful of managers at the Red Jack Club, and after nearly a month of working here, Allison still hadn’t managed to identify all of them. She only knew Sarah and Serena, who were both managers here, each responsible for different floors and mainly in charge of drinks and food, leading a tearn of a hundred servers each.
The big shot here was Samuel.
Samuel was like the go–to guy for stuff that Sarah and Serena couldn’t handle, they would turn to him.
As for Samuel’s boss…
Who the hell was the mysterious boss of the Red Jack Club? No one had a clue.
Even Samuel himself had never met his boss face to face
The office decor here was pretty much the same across the board, but Sarah had a unique taste. She had a thing for filling her office with plants and flowers, a stark contrast to the typical lavish golden vibe of the place.
Stepping into Sarah’s office, people could easily mistake it for a flower shop.
The air was thick with the mixed scent of various flowers, and then the smell of a lady’s cigarette
“Ms. Sarah.”
Allison looked at Sarah, who was sitting at her desk.
Sarah was dressed in a classic black women’s suit, with a brooch on her chest, a black lace blouse underneath, and a short skirt. Her makeup was exquisite. She was around 36 years old but didn’t look it. Her hair was tied up low and she blew smoke rings from her red lips.
When she smiled, there was a fine line at the corner of her eyes.
She was totally different from Serena.
Serena was seductive and enticing, while Sarah was rather aloof.
“Allison, good job tonight. I’m gonna add a little bonus to your paycheck this month”
“Thanks”
Allison bowed her head slightly. She waited for Sarah to continue, but the room fell silent for a few minutes.
Was that all Sarah wanted to tell her? About the bonus?
“Ms. Sarah, I’ll leave you be then.”
As she turned to leave the office.
Sarah’s voice came from behind her, “Allison, what would you do if you were accused of theft tonight?”
Allison paused, her hand on the doorknob.
What would she do?
After a two–second silence, she replied, “Whatever you tell me to.“.
She couldn’t afford to lose this job.
Her mom was still in the hospital waiting for her.
Poor people really had no dignity.
Sarah was taken aback.
“Allison, you’re a smart girl.”
Allison left Sarah’s office. She didn’t head home right away. It was two in the morning and Sarah’s words echoed in her ears. Was she smart?
No, she definitely wasn’t. Ever since she was a kid, Grace always called her a dumb girl.
She wasn’t always like this
