Patty's face went pale.
Allison spoke with a detached calm, "Patty, there's stuff I don't want to spell out, but when you had Paige tailing me like a private investigator, you should've known I wouldn't take it well. I value loyalty, absolute loyalty."
She'd given Patty a chance, and Paige too.
But back then, they both snubbed it.
Too late for regrets now.
"I understand, you don't trust me, and you've been backing Emma, but she's too new at Epic Entertainment. Even if she snags the VP spot, she can't compete with Charlie. He's Penelope's agent. At the end of the day, you won't gain anything from it," Patty seemed to be pleading earnestly with Allison.
Allison lifted her gaze slightly, her eyes cold and unruffled. She watched the desperate Patty, her lips curving into a faint smile, "How do you know Charlie won't throw any opportunities my way?"
Patty hastily replied, "I've been clashing with her for years, I know all her tricks. She's ruthless, and now that I'm down, she'll definitely take the chance to kick you when you're vulnerable. Allison, you're just too naïve. If you were unhappy with me, you should've just said so. I might have been a bit neglectful during our partnership, but I've pulled quite a few strings for you. Without my protection, how will you deal with Charlie's bullying?"
Allison thought Patty could still spin lies into truths.
Turning her own surveillance and the snubbing of opportunities into something noble.
She must really think Allison was a fool.
Allison took out her phone, dialed a number, and put it on speaker.
The call connected quickly.
"Allison."
It was Charlie's voice.
Patty was stunned.
Allison asked, "Has Epic Entertainment recently invested in a new period drama, 'Song of the Phoenix'? Is Kayleigh slated for the lead, and are the supporting roles still up for grabs?"
"That's right, we haven't finalized the cast yet. Allison, do you have any recommendations?"
Patty stood up. She looked at Emma with a hint of reluctance in her eyes. Of course, she was reluctant. Anywhere else, she was superior to Emma. But now, she had to bow to her, "Vice President Ann."
Emma held the higher rank.
Patty had no choice.
The woman who stood before her, just a few months prior, was a low-tier executive agent at Epic Entertainment.
Now, she was transformed.
The new VP.
Emma looked at Patty and simply acknowledged, "Hmm."
She then turned to Allison, "Allison, Tom's arrived with the car. He's downstairs."
Allison stood up, addressing Patty, "If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way."
