The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 731

Mina nodded confidently, “We need to handle this quickly. Also, get me Frances’ medical records. With such a severe complication, I have a responsibility as her stepmom.”

She headed upstairs.

Daisy was sitting by the bed, her shoulders trembling slightly. Allison reached out and gently placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.

From Mina's composed demeanor, it was evident that the moment Frances was declared comatose, Mina would be ready to take charge of Boswell Enterprises. And Daisy, her close friend, would be just a disposable pawn in the Boswell family’s power struggle against Mina.

Daisy’s lips quivered, pale as a ghost, “He’s human too, yet so many people wish he would just die already, wish he had died in that childhood car crash.”

“He still has you. He’ll be okay,” Allison said, sitting down beside her.

“Go back, you have a movie to shoot. Don’t let me hold you up. I’ll be fine after some sleep,” Daisy insisted.

She knew she shouldn’t have called Allison.

Because Allison couldn’t really help.

No one could.

But she didn’t know who else to turn to. Her parents still believed she was happy with the Boswells; they couldn’t imagine Frances suddenly falling ill. It was late at night; she couldn’t disturb her parents or make them worry for her sake.

She clutched Allison’s hand, “You have a career to think about, don’t let me mess that up.”

Allison had only recently gotten her life back on track in the entertainment industry. Taking days off for one movie was simply not feasible.

Allison shook her head.

She wasn’t leaving.

Allison replied, “Your boyfriend knows a lot of people, right? Can you help me look into someone?”

“Who?”

“Mina.”

Emma wasn’t well-versed in high society drama, but she recognized the name.

Allison explained, “You know Spotlight Productions, right? The second biggest player in the entertainment industry?”

“Of course. Last quarter, they even outperformed Epic Entertainment by three percent. The execs at Epic had several meetings about it, and whenever Spotlight eyed a project, Epic would swoop in and take it. But then, Andrew got played by Spotlight’s COO, Glen Highwood. A lousy investment, no real profit, and if it weren’t for the corruption scandal that got him ousted, the Lindberg Corporation would have had him on the chopping block anyway.”

“The CEO of Spotlight is Wilton, but Glen runs everything. Wilton is just a castoff from the Boswell family, a playboy who doesn’t care about business.” Suddenly, Emma had a thought, “Mina? That name rings a bell…”
