The Billionaire's Mistake (Anya and Daniel) novel Chapter 17

Chapter 17: Jealousy. 

Daniel felt anger rush through his blood. Didn’t she say she was going to the hospital to visit her mother? Why was she having a coffee date? 

“Did you catch his name?” he asked after a while Grey knew he had gotten the boss‘ 

attention, so he decided to pour fuel on the fire This way, the master would take the matter seriously. 

“She called him Dr. Steele at first. He insisted she called him by his first name, so she calls him Harry,” he said. 

“Got it,” Daniel answered and ended the call. 

Daniel felt 

When Anya got home that day, Daniel was seated in the living room waiting for her. When I felt her returning before she even drove in. When she walked into the living room, both relieved and angered. 

Daniel took in her outfit, she was dressed in all black. It was a short dress. When she had, walked out that morning, he did not seem to find anything wrong with her dress, but looking at her walk in this moment he felt her dress was too revealing. 

“Mr. Shaw,” she greeted him politely and made to leave quickly. She still had to deal with him later at night and she hoped she could delay their encounter. He was irritated by the way she addressed him. 

“Dinner will be served soon,” he said after a while. His emotions were all over the place. He knew that she was entitled to do whatever she wanted, but he could not take it. He did not like the Idea of her interacting with other men. It felt like an insult to him. He was getting more agitated as time passed and now she was in front of him, he could not find words to express what was happening. 

“Alright,” she answered and hurried upstairs to her room. As she cleaned up, he was getting impatient. Daniel had already figured out how he was going to approach the matter. He had reconstructed his words over and over again in his head. But when she came down in a comfortable dress worn over a white t–shirt, he could not find the words. 

They ate for a while till he could not hold it in any longer. 

“Where did you go?” he asked and she paused in confusion. 

“I told you this, the hospital,” she answered. 

“To see your mother?” he asked. 

“Yes,” she answered. 

“You did not go anywhere else?” he asked.

“Is this relevant?” she asked guardedly. When he saw her put her guard up, he became 

irritated. 

“It’s a simple yes or no question, why do you behave as though I am asking if you do drugs?” 

he asked. 

“It is not a simple yes or no question, Mr. Shaw. You already have someone watching my every move. There is no need to interrogate me too.” 

Daniel saw her eyes turn cold and it only annoyed him. 

“When did I interrogate you?” he asked. 

“Then, do you?” she asked. 

“Do I what?” 

“Want to interrogate me?” 

“Why would I do that?” he asked. 

“Then, there is no need to ask me such questions!” 

“You live with me,” he insisted. 

“And that will change soon!” she answered and he hit the table, rattling all the food and startling. 

“It seems you are growing bold, Anya,” his voice lowered dangerously. She suddenly recalled her situation, recalled how ruthless he could be and fear filled her. 

“Will you harm me, then?” she managed to ask and her fear, the sound of her heart beating so loud, it threatened to leap out of her chest. 

Her question was like a bucket of water on his rage. He took in a deep breath and ran his hand through his hair in frustration. 

“Why would I hurt you?” he asked and she slowly calmed down. 

“You need to understand, my temper is usually good, but you seem to be pushingoo all my buttons. I am trying my best not to lose control, so don’t test me,” he stared deeply into her 

eyes. 

“Did you go anywhere else?” he asked. Anya thought about it. He was already a very dangerous person. Even though he promised to not hurt her, there was no need for her to annoy him to the point of him losing control. 

“Yes, I had coffee with a friend,” Anya answered 

“A friend?” he scoffed, stabbing into his plate of food with his fork. Anya remained frozen for a bit, before she ignored him and continued eating. The dining room descended into silence

again. Anya thought she was done for the night and he was merely agitated and would finally drop the topic, but he spoke again. 

“Do 

you always have coffee with this friend when you visit your mother?” he asked and Anya felt her appetite vanish. 

“I will not ask why you want to know this, Mr. Shaw…” she started to say, 

“Don’t call me that!” he snapped at her. The more she called him Mr. Shaw the more irritated. he was. She obviously did not mind calling that man by his name, but every time she opened her mouth to speak to him, it was Mr. Shaw she said. He was getting tired of her calling him so formally. 

“I think I am done eating,” she said and got up to leave. 

“Sit and eat!” he ordered. 

“No! Unless you are going to do something to me because I refuse to eat with you, then the answer is no! I don’t care what is wrong with you, but I am done for the night!” she found herself raising her voice. When she was done saying her piece, she turned around and went up to her room. Daniel heard her slam the door behind her and his frustration peaked. Before he could stop himself, he found that he had slammed his fist into the table, breaking it In two. 

Anya immediately sat to work when she went up, she wanted to distract herself so that she would calm down.
