Chapter 210: Exposed 

The others nodded, their expressions ranging from intrigued to slightly envious. 

Then a voice asked, “Your grandmother, huh? She must be pretty special, the way those directors were treating her.” Anya knew that voice. It was a colleague, Anne, from the Houston marketing department walking towards them. 

Anya paused, her smile fading slightly. “What do you mean? What directors?” 

Her coworker blinked, surprised by Anya’s reaction. “You know, the vice president and a few other big shots. They were practically falling over themselves to greet your grandmother when she was down in the lobby.” 

Anya felt a slight unease creep into her stomach. “Oh, that… well, my grandmother is quite well–known in her field, so people tend to treat her with a lot of respect,” she said, trying to 

brush it off. 

The coworker nodded, but Anya could see the lingering curiosity in their eyes. She quickly changed the subject, focusing on enjoying the delicious meal her grandmother had prepared. 

But problems never came alone. Before the topic could die down, Mr Jimmy and his secretary, Lily, walked towards their table to sit. 

“Anya, you know Shaw CEO’s grandmother?” Lily asked as they took a sit. Anya froze at her 

words. 

“His grandmother? Where?” someone asked. 

“What CEO?” another asked. 

“In the lobby,” Lily answered. 

“The old lady in grey in the lobby? That was her grandmother. I heard the woman say so,” 

Anne corrected. 

“That was Amanda Rhodes, Chairman Shaw’s mother in law and CEO Daniel Shaw’s grandmother,” Lily insisted, “I have seen her before at the company annual meetings. Anya had long lowered her head and concentrated on her food as though they were not talking to 

her. 

So, when they stopped and looked her way, she was already eating. What was she supposed to say? There was no way to get out of this. Daniel’s grandmother really told a lot of people she was her granddaughter in law. It is good that they only heard granddaughter or else… 

Anya sighed, realizing that her life was about to get a lot more complicated. 

But, Amanda’s appearance really worked. Things online died and disappeared so quickly that no one was prepared. No one needed telling that the matter was being suppressed. Both Shaw

and Houston co were pretending nothing happened. 

It did not take long for Jasmine to notice and panic. She looked to her agent and asked why there was no more news of the incident.

Her agent had been working in this field from more than a decade. She did not need to be told that the news was being suppressed. She had a bad feeling. Jasmine may have over done it this time and eaten more than she could chew. 

She hurriedly started making calls, but all her calls came to a dead end. It was as though everyone had turned against Jasmine. What was she to do now? 

Soon, she received a call from her company president and she and Jasmine hurried over. 

However, the moment she stepped through the doors, Jasmine was met with the stern, disapproving gaze of the agency president. 

“Why is the company not blowing this matter up? This girl has slapped me and we are just letting it go?” Jasmine asked. 

“Letting it go? It seems it is not our turn to decide that. The other side are the only ones who can be letting anything go,” the man said. 

“What do you mean? If you do not handle this well, I will not renew my contract!” Jasmine 

said and Annie held her head. This was a threat Jasmine had always thrown out to get her way. But Annie had a feeling that it will not work this time. 

“Forget renewing your contract. Even getting a job will be hard for you. You actually offended someone you should not have. Now, Houston co have asked for you to be removed from the project and even other companies have called and asked for you to be exchanged!” 

The seasoned executive wasted no time in unleashing a scathing rebuke, his words cutting through Jasmine’s bravado like a knife. 

“What do you mean?” Jasmine seemed to finally realize what was happening. 

“Do you have any idea the damage you’ve done?” the president scolded, his voice laced with a mixture of frustration and disbelief. “The Shaw family have ban you. Now, no company wants to work with you. I have said you should tone down you arrogance, now look what you have done!” 

Jasmine opened her mouth to defend herself, but the president raised a hand, silencing her. 

“Save it. Your childish behavior on that video shoot has become the talk of the entire entertainment world. No one is going to want to work with you after this fiasco. Your career is essentially over.” 

Jasmine felt the blood drain from her face as the reality of the situation sank in. She had 

always been confident in her abilities and popularity, was it not just some staff? How could her career be affected? This has got to be some joke.

“Please, you have to help me,” Jasmine pleaded, her voice wavering with desperation. “There must be something we can do to salvage this. I’ll do anything, just don’t let my career end like 

this!” 

The president regarded Jasmine with a steely gaze, “I’m afraid the damage is done. Forget pursuing the matter, forget the fans outrage. You are never stepping on screen again.”
