Chapter 216: Camp 

“Lydia! Lydia!” Cindy called in a little whisper behind her seat by the window toward Lydia, who was pretending to see and hear nothing. From Cindy’s frantic calling, Lydia already knew he was definitely the one seated next to her. This only solidified her determination to look outside the window. Even though she had whispered, Harry still heard her. When he heard her name was Lydia, he raised a brow. How many Lydia’s could there be in this university? What are the odds of him meeting one? 

Lydia pulled her phone out and furiously texted Cindy. ‘I know it is him; stop calling; I am pretending to be dead,‘ her text read. Only then did Cindy stop calling. 

‘Hurry up and greet the Lord; we need to store up on good karma,‘ Cindy responded. 

‘Be respectful. We need more blessings for this trip,‘ Ethel joins the chat. Looking at their texts, Lydia grimaced. How should she explain to them that she had met him last night? Most of all, because she did not say anything last night, they would think she was hiding things from them. After a small prayer, she turned around and looked towards Harry. The moment she looked up, she met his eyes, staring right at her. 

“Good morning,” she said. 

“No more pretending you didn’t see me?” he asked. 

“How is that possible? I was just interested in something happening outside the window,” she said awkwardly. To this, he glanced out the window beside her to see nothing but a concrete wall a bit away and nodded. 

“Yes, very interesting,” he said, and she gave an awkward smile and returned to staring 

outside. 

Soon, they began their journey. Lydia pretended he was not sitting nearby, put on the drama she was watching the previous night, and smacked on her donuts and milk tea. When she was done, she put the empty cup and paper box beside her, but he offered to put them away. Seeing his hand raised to her, waiting for her to hand her the nylon with the cup and box, she hesitated before handing it to him. 

“Thank you,” she said, and he got up and went in front of the bus to put it in the waste bin. Her phone buzzed the next moment with texts. She did not need to look to know who they were from. Seeing as she was not responding fast enough, Cindy looked back hurriedly before Harry got back. 

“We told you to be respectful! Don’t mess with the karma of our room!” she said. Ether could no longer hold it in and stuck her head around her chair to look behind at Lydia. 

“Do not let me spank you, child,” she warned, and she returned to her set quickly. After being scolded, Lydia decided she might as well tell them what happened last night. She paused her

drama and wrote a long explanation, detailing her shameful sliding away, leaving out the awkward position they were in at the end, and explaining how she ran hoping he would not recognize her, but from what she saw, he probably did. 

When her roommates read 

her uarry was already back in his seat. 

“A child that commits sin and dares not tell her parents,” Cindy exclaimed loudly, hoping Lydia could hear them from behind. 

“Have you seen the child you raised?” Ethel blamed Cindy: “See what good thing your child has gone to do.” Lydia felt like spanking them. Her roommates were dramatic people. Every time she does something stupid, they start mimicking her parents in Chinese dramas, acting as though she has disgraced them. 

When Harry saw Lydia texting, he was sure she was talking to her friends seated in front. 

“Lydia, was it?” he asked, and the clamoring girls seemed to calm down. Even a fool could tell they were listening. Lydia glanced at Harry briefly before nodding. 

“Lady Lydia, then,” he said, and she dared not look at him. Hearing his words, the girls in front started clamoring again. 

“See what your daughter has gone and done?” Cindy scolded Ethel. 

“She was usually well behaved; how could we know she would go behind our backs?” Ethel 

answered. 

“Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?” Cindy asked. Unable to take it anymore, Lydia stood and leaned over her friends‘ seats. 

“Mother, father, If you don’t remember where you are, I will remind you.” Lydia warned them both dangerously. 

“She is rebelling. She has grown and is rebelling,” Cindy cried dramatically. 

“Go to sleep!” Lydia scolded through her teeth and sat down in a huff. Not bothering to explain to Harry, who looked curious, she put on her earpiece and closed her eyes to sleep. Given that she had not slept all night, it did not take long for her to fall asleep. 

“Wake up, we are there.” She heard a voice call and woke up to Harry’s smiling eyes. Realizing that she was sleeping on his shoulder, she sat up quickly. 

“I am so sorry,” she apologized, and she looked outside the window to find that it was already afternoon. She took out her phone to check the time as one of their professors got up to give 

instructions. 

“The camp is not far from here, so we will stop for a bit. Visual arts and photography should come with me. The rest 

luggage in the bus; can go over to camp and set up a bit,” he announced. “Leave your 

luggage in the bus; we will only be there for ten minutes.” 

“Sir, if we are not far, why can’t we just set up first and go over? That way, we don’t need to
