Chapter 220: Lydia’s poisonous tongue
“What are you all doing?” Harry asked. For a second, he had thought that he had walked into the wrong house. This was definitely the house he rented.
“Harry,” Lydia noticed he had walked in and looked uncomfortable, but Lydia did not believe
“Why are you all here?” Ethan, Harry’s friend, asked.
“Didn’t you invite the accounting department today? We just did not think someone would propose to Lydia here,” someone said. From the look on his face, he seemed to be waiting for a show. As the proposal had been interrupted, James, a dark–haired man, stood and pulled Lydia behind him.
“You must be Harry. I am James, Lydia’s fiance.” He greeted them as though he had just forgotten that Lydia had not yet gotten a chance to answer.
“Who invited you all here?” Mark asked dangerously. They had things to do, yet the accounting department was here.
“I am sorry about all this, Harry. I didn’t know you did not want me to invite my friends; I did
not think James would.” She trailed off.
“I don’t understand. When did Harry invite you all here?” Mark asked, and others looked around in confusion. At their words, many of them were slightly angered. Why did they make it sound as though they were uninvited guests?
“Even though someone stole your thunder, Harry, there is no need to blame us for it. It is not
your fault that the girl you like is in love with someone else,” someone said.
“I am sorry, Harry; I am in love with James.” Lydia started to drop tears like rain.
“Who said that Harry was in love with you?” Ethan almost lost it. What nonsense is this drama about?
“This crying girl,” Mark called the crying Lydia, “have you ever talked to Harry before? Has Harry ever come around to you before? Why are you acting as though you are wronged?” Mark asked.
“What are you saying? Everyone already knows you and Lydia are a thing; there is no need to deny her out of embarrassment.” Someone said what the others were thinking. Lydia saw the scene before her and was not sure why she had come. She was already too late. There was no way he was going to be able to wash himself clean from this. Seeing things escalating to this point, she wanted to leave before she was seen. But when she saw Harry’s cold face, she kind of felt frustrated on his behalf. Before she knew it, she had made her way to his side.
“Harry, what’s going on?” She asked, and Harry looked down at the girl who seemed to have

appeared out of nowhere.
“Sister in law,” Ethan and Mark called in shock the moment he saw her.
“Lydia,”

Harry called, and the entire backyard froze. From the way Ethan and Mark addressed her, they knew she was related to Harry. Everyone knew that the three of them entered the master’s program together and called themselves brothers, even though they all had different last names. If they called her sister–in–law, doesn’t that mean that she was dating Harry? Did Harry just call her Lydia?
“What is going on?” Lydia asked, grabbing Harry’s arm. He did not need anyone to tell him that she was helping him. Seeing the look of confusion on her face, Harry almost laughed. Seeing her appear, Mark saw a chance to get revenge. He was not stupid; he knew someone was obviously targeting Harry. If he did not guess wrong, it was probably this Lydia girl, crying as though Harry had wronged her.
“Sister in law, We came in and they were all here, claiming that Harry called them for this crying girl,” Mark explained, and Lydia’s eyes turned to the other Lydia, who was too shocked to continue crying.
“Why are you crying?” Lydia asked, and the other Lydia choked.
“And all of you, what are you doing here?” She asked, and the crowd became uncomfortable. It seems they were dragged into a one–woman play
“Ah, she called us here, saying Harry invited her to a gathering; she said we could join,” a woman explained, throwing everything back to the other Lydia.
“Yes, her friends said Harry would be confessing to her,” another added.
“And you came? Your face did not feel red from your mother’s teachings when you joined without invitation.“Lydia asked, and the ones who spoke froze. “And you, why are you here?” She asked, and the other Lydia opened her mouth, but nothing came out.
“What happened? Are you going to start crying to confuse the judge? Do I look like I study law?” She asked, and her fiancee stepped forward.
“It seems there was a misunderstanding,” he started to say.
“And you, why are you here? The banner behind you, were you the one who brought it?” She blocked his words with these two questions.
“We may have made a mistake when coming.” James started to say:.
“Did you mistake this place for the place you rented to propose to your girlfriend?” she asked, and he could not respond. If Harry was really interested in his girlfriend, then what he did today was just shady, but with the situation, they look shameless.
“Did your words trip in your throat the way your shame tripped outside your mother’s house? Why did you not wait for your shame to arrive before you walked in here? You just came to a
