hapter 238: Mrs Shaw
“We would have made it legal if we had time,” he said. She had a gut feeling that this was a sign to abandon this job. But before she could back out, he spoke again.
“I will pay you five hundred and the rest the job,” he said and she froze. That was more money than she
moment you are done with pounds. Two hundred and fifty i
would make in a year even on a good year.
“Then, let us do it this way, I have a standard contract that absolves me of legal
responsibilities that come with this job, do you agree to sign?” she took out her phone and handed it over to him. He took it and found an electronic document open for him to see. He raised a brow at this, but went ahead to read and sign. The moment he passed the phone back to her, she looked up at him and asked, “Who will I be pretending to be?”
“My wife,” Mathew answered and got up.
Vivian raised a brow at his words and hurriedly got up as she saw him start to leave. As they walked out of the private room, he took out his phone and wired her the initial payment. When Vivian saw the payment, she paused making he stop in his steps and look back at her.
“What is it?”
“What is your wife like?” she asked, “So that I might imitate her.”
“I am looking at her,” he answered with a slightly amused smile. Vivian paused at his words. and nodded her head.
“Then, what kind of wife are you expecting?” she asked and he walked back to her and stares
her down.
“This make up you have on, you said it is so you don’t get recognized. You need to be recognized, Vivian.” he said.
“is that all?” she asked.
“You are Mrs Shaw. All you need to know is that money means nothing to you. There is nothing you cannot get, as long as you ask. As long as you ask, it must be given. You know it and they know it,” he said, his hand tucking her black hair behind her ear. For some reason, she felt a chill run down her spine.
“You must not break character, no matter what. Can you do that?” he asked and she swallowed
and nodded.
“Let us get you changed,” he said, taking her hand and pulling her to the elevator where they rode all the way to the top floor penthouse suit. When they arrived he looked at his watch and took a seat. Vivian saw rows of cloths displayed before her with at least ten attendants waiting.
Vivian had head his specifications and one color came to mind alone, “Red,” she said without
explaining and took a seat next to Mathew, The attendants glanced at each other before scrambling to remove everything that is not red from the racks.
“You did not ask where we are going, baby,” he said and she felt her hair stand from his
address.
“Does it matter? I want a red dress,” she answered and he nodded.
“True, it doesn’t matter,” he answered. She saw a dress out the corner of her eye and pointed and they brought it over. She looked for a bit and walked into the bedroom without saying a thing. The attendant was so flustered, she was not sure if to follow and was hurried along by another, before she hurried after Vivian. Vivian immediately took off her pink dress and cleaned her make up. She put on the red dress to find that it was a bit too short. She walked out of the room that way, and Mathew looked up only to pause at her long exposed legs. Vivian was glad that the guards were outside and not in the living room..
“Pink skirt,” Vivian ordered before walking over to where jewelries were laid out. She looked through as the attendants hurriedly picked out several pink skirts. As Vivian picked a small diamond necklace and earring, she glanced back at the skirts carried around and spotted a lace skirt and pointed to it. The attendants did hurriedly brought it over and she put it on right there, with Mathew in the room. It was as though she did not care that he was there. But she did. She only thought if they were married, she would not need to hide from him. He had paid over two hundred pounds. She was not going to break character no matter what.
Seeing her lift her dress and wear the skirt without care, Mathew smiled lightly. He liked how well she got into her role. Though he wondered how long she was going to be able to pick it up
she was done. As he looked at her, he had to admit that she had good taste. Her the long lace skirt really completed the outfit. He smiled as she sat for a make up artist to work. It did not take long before she was done and ready to leave.
“That took more than thirty minutes,” Mathew commented.
“They can wait,” she answered as she put on her shoes. She soon took his arm and they left the room. She had tied her hair up or else she would have adjusted it over again out of habit. She was nervous inside, but continued to look as though she did not care outside. She took out her phone and scrolled through her mail while they sat in the car on their way to where ever he intended to take her. She found herself completely tired at this point as she had been running around all day, but the day was not over.
