Chapter 46: Meeting again. 

“Will we be able to meet the artist?” Daniel asked 

“I am arranging a dinner with a few of our tech specialists. Most of them are big fans of Anya and will be working with her throughout the project, so I wanted to introduce them. It would be our honor if you joined us,” Stanley said, and Daniel nodded, and they proceeded to a private room while Stanley continued greeting guests. 

Daniel texted his secretary to send him as much information on Anya as possible. For the rest of the event, he was browsing through the information given. This was quite the famous artist that very few have ever seen, as she does not attend events. She had quite the fandom as she did both digital and traditional art. Her works were sold privately to collectors and have never been displayed before in a gallery. The most anticipated of her fans is to see her art live. He went on to look at some of her painting videos. He clicked on some of her painting videos online to watch and felt his heart stop. He knew that background. That was Anya’s home. Her hands had on her wedding ring.

James suggested going back to the hotel after a while. In the car back, he could see Daniel’s slight agitation, making him sigh. If he was not married himself, he would not have understood Daniel at this moment. If his wife got up and left him, he was not sure how he would react. He would probably be in a worse state than Daniel. Given, it is not that she left him; it was Daniel that threw her out the moment her mother died, and he was not stupid enough to make such a mistake, but he could still understand it. 

“A lot of people are called Anya. I don’t want you to overthink this and place your hopes that high. It might not be her,” James could not help but remind him. 

“It’s her,” Daniel answered. 

“You can’t go on instinct with things like this,” James could not help but sigh at his

“I watched some videos of her painting,” Daniel said, taking out his phone to play one of the videos. “See that background? That is Lilly’s room. The decor is still that way. And she is wearing her wedding ring,” Daniel explained, and James paused.

“So, it might really be her? That is good then. I heard you on the phone with a private detective not too long ago. I had thought it would take time for you to get any r thought he could finally sigh. He was not sure how things would work out, but he felt that it was at least good that they had found her. 

They went back to the hotel to rest, but Daniel could not rest at all. He watched too many videos of her painting on the net and only washed and changed when they were ready to leave. They soon set off for the restaurant where the gathering would be held and arrived not long after. As they approached the private room, Daniel felt his heart race wildly. But just as it raced, it dropped quickly when he walked in and realized that she was not there. 

Stanley noticed Daniel look around the room as they walked in, so he got up to greet them. 

“Mr. Shaw, Mr. Wright, welcome,” he greeted, then turned to the high executives and tech specialists in the room to introduce. 

“Everyone, this is James Wright and Daniel Shaw,” he introduced them simply. But the executives already knew who they were. These were the very peak of machinery, and technological production in the country. 

“Please, sit. We only came to join you,” James said when he saw them all get up at Stanley’s introduction. Daniel and James made their way to their seats. James, being friends with Daniel this long, could tell from his blank face that he was holding himself back from asking the most crucial question: Where is Anya? 

Before these words could leave his mouth or both of them could take a seat, a waiter led

Stanley and James, who were talking to each other, noticed Daniel paused without sitting and looked in the direction of his eyes. 

When Stanley saw who had walked in, he sighed in relief and walked over to her. 

“Anya, it’s good you are here; did you have a hard time finding this place?” Stanley asked, and Anya smiled and shook her head. But inside, she was dying of confusion. Why was Daniel here? As someone who was in love with him for so long, her eyes like a magnet to his form, she spotted him the moment she walked in. Habits were hard to get rid of. 

“Come, let me introduce you. This is James Wright and Daniel Shaw; I am bringing them in on the project,” Stanley said, leading her over to James and Daniel. Daniel’s eyes settled on Stanley’s hand, lightly resting on Anya’s back as he led her over.
