Chapter 983
Thalassa stood awkwardly for a moment before regaining her composure and meeting Lysander’s deep gaze.
He looked at her intently, his silence as commanding as any spoken order.
Under the weight of his daunting stare, Thalassa felt an immense pressure. She dared not hesitate any longer. Silently, she took her seat next to him, picked up her utensils, and began to eat her breakfast.
“Mommy, I want you to drive us to school today,” Elowen declared, her cheeks puffed out with food, her words muffled as she spoke, resembling a little goldfish..
“Me too!” Sophia chimed in, raising her spoon enthusiastically.
“I want Mommy to take us too,” Dorian added with a pleading expression, his large glossy eyes blinking innocently.
Thalassa glanced at Lysander, who was calmly eating his breakfast without any sign of intervention.
Understanding his silent approval, she responded to her children, “Alright, after breakfast, Mommy will take you to school.”
“Mommy, you have to come pick us up later, okay? I don’t want Fitch to do it. I miss you and feel like crying when I don’t see you,” Elowen said, her little nose beginning to turn red as tears welled up in her eyes. She raised her chubby little hand to wipe them away. Thalassa’s heart ached at the sight of their adorable, plaintive expressions. How could she possibly say no to such a request?
“Okay, Mommy will come pick you up after school. Eat up now, you need a full belly to have energy for the day.” Thalassa added a plump strawberry to each of their bowls.
“Yeah, I gotta eat fast so I can grow tall and protect Mommy,” Elowen said, her chubby hand struggling to scoop up the strawberry with her spoon before popping it into her mouth, her cheeks puffing out like a fish’s as she chewed.
She was just too cute for words.
Thalassa watched them with a smile brimming with maternal love, a warmth that seemed to radiate from her very eyes.
Lysander glanced back unintentionally and caught Thalassa’s tender gaze, filled with laughter and warmth.
A ripple stirred in his deep eyes, and his hand paused momentarily as he held his utensil.
After a brief pause, he resumed his breakfast with composed elegance.
After finishing breakfast, Lysander left for the office.
Thalassa called the children to pack their backpacks and prepared to leave.
Fitch offered to drive them, but Thalassa intervened, “Fitch, I’ll drive the kids to school myself. The sedan is just the right size for the five of us, and it’s less conspicuous than the big nanny van.”
“You can drive?” Fitch inquired.
“Yes, I’ve driven before, and it’ll be fine,” Thalassa assured.
Seeing her determination, Fitch relented.
