The Bond Between Us (Anastasia and Herman) novel Chapter 762

The news that Herman might still be alive was like a ray of hope cutting through the clouds.

Flynn was both shocked and thrilled. "Really? Ana, where's Herman? Did Dailey say anything else?"

"They haven't found him yet," Anastasia replied, thinking about Rowan. She planned to wrap up her current projects and then go find Rowan herself.

She was determined to find Herman on her own.

Flynn's excitement quickly turned to worry. "Could it be one of Herman's enemies taking advantage of the situation? That's possible. Where's Dailey now? I should go talk to him."

"He mentioned heading to no-man's land. It's chaotic there, better if you stay away," Anastasia advised. "You've got that meeting with Mr. Jarod about the South Bay Project tonight. Plus, follow up on the land deal in the northern suburbs."

"Alright." Flynn felt a mix of pride and sadness watching Anastasia grow. If their family's pillar hadn't fallen, she wouldn't have had to become so resilient.

Anastasia returned to her office to review documents and prepare for meetings.

By seven in the evening, Tony was waiting downstairs with the car, and Anastasia, along with Nelson and two PR employees, headed to Neon Dreams.

Nelson had done his homework on Mr. Jarod's quirks and gave Anastasia a heads-up. "Mrs. Anastasia, Jarod is known to be a bit of a womanizer and quite suspicious. Be careful."

"Got it." Anastasia smirked. "Isn't every man a bit of a womanizer?"

As a woman in business, she was used to these dynamics. Even if she didn't leverage her looks and figure, her presence would still be scrutinized. Her appearance undeniably influenced others' judgments, making negotiations smoother.

Attractive things draw attention; true gentlemen can resist.

Anastasia had heard about Jarod from Herman—a man who admired beauty but wouldn't force anyone. He preferred mutual consent.

Such men posed no real threat.

Anastasia entered the club's private room with her team. Jarod was already there, accompanied by two young women, one of whom was Melody.

Anastasia was momentarily surprised to see Melody but quickly masked her reaction. She approached Jarod with a friendly handshake. "Mr. Jarod, thank you for waiting."

Jarod, at thirty-five, had an average look with a scholarly air, medium build, and a long face.

Anastasia wore a black suit, conservative yet undeniably appealing to the men present.

If she didn’t wish to be seen, she’d stay home. Since she was here, there was no use being coy.

"Ms. Anastasia, you’re truly impressive, not pretentious at all. I like that," Jarod remarked, dismissing the women at his side before suggesting, "With Herman in trouble, it’s a shame for someone as young as you to be widowed. Why not consider being with me? I’d take good care of you."

Anastasia chuckled. "Mr. Jarod, you’re quite the joker. You’re the 67th person offering to be a stepfather to my three kids."

Jarod laughed. "Too bad I wasn’t the first."

Anastasia raised her glass. "Mr. Jarod, I’ve arranged something special for you tonight. Let’s focus on having a good time. We can discuss business later."

Jarod perked up, intrigued. "Oh? What do you have planned?"

Anastasia smiled, signaling Nelson.

Nelson stepped out and soon returned with eight stunning women, each more beautiful than the last.

Anastasia approached them, turning to Jarod with a confident smile. "These lovely ladies will make sure you have an unforgettable evening. Are you satisfied, Mr. Jarod?"
