Seeing Kara return to class, Luna fumed, "Why are you helping her? She's just trying to bask in your glory to up her status! I've seen this type a mile away!"
Luna had immediately seen through Kara's schemes and couldn't believe Freya hadn't.
Freya explained, "It's not about helping Kara. It's more about keeping Kieran in check through her."
If Kieran found out she had the private deals with Preston, there would be hell to pay. The Dawson Group would face Kieran's wrath again. Thinking about it gave Freya a headache.
Freya had clung to Kieran like a bad habit, and he had barely given her the time of day. And when she desperately wanted to avoid him, Kieran seemed more relentless than ever. What a mess!
"Look, look! Mr. Sutton's here!"
"Is that Mr. Sutton again? Why does he keep showing up so much lately?"
"He must be here for Eloise, right? I heard they had a row, so Mr. Sutton's been coming to school looking for her."
"Not at all! I think Mr. Sutton's here for Freya."
"For Freya? But I thought he couldn't stand her?"
...
The students whispered among themselves in the hallway.
Freya and Luna watched from the window as Kieran showed up with an entire entourage.
