It wasn't long before the waiter brought the menu to the duo and announced, "Sir, ma'am, ready to order?"
"I... I..." Before Eloise could finish her sentence, Preston interjected, "No need. We'll leave after our discussion."
After saying that, Preston gave Hans a look. And Hans promptly handed the waiter a stack of bills.
The waiter was shocked by the generous sum of money handed to him, especially since no one had dined. It was a first—paying without eating!
Seeing the waiter's bewildered departure, Freya, hiding in a corner, straightened up.
She wondered, ‘What’s going on here?’
Freya's mind raced, and she quickly spoke into the walkie-talkie, "Serve them some desserts, on the house. Oh, and add a bottle of red wine!"
She refused to believe they could resist dining with wine on the table.
Soon after, the waiter brought Preston and Eloise two heart-shaped desserts and a bottle of red wine.
The waiter smiled and said, "Sir, ma'am, these are complimentary from the restaurant. Would you like to try them?"
"Thank you," Eloise replied with a polite smile to the waiter.
Once the waiter had left, Eloise quickly found a topic to engage Preston, saying, "Mr. Tyler, this restaurant is famous for its desserts. Would you like to try some?"
Preston waved and said, "I'm not that into sweets."
From a distance, Freya listened in, feeling a headache coming on. Preston could kill it with his conversation, no matter how great the environment or romantic the mood was.
