The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 201

"Whoa, you're not kidding, are you?!" Luna stared at Freya in disbelief.

What kind of self-hatred drives someone to show up at school looking like a total trainwreck?

"Freya, I swear, if you weren't Kieran Sutton's fiancée, the security would've stopped you at the entrance!"

"Really? I think I look fine." Freya glanced at herself in the mirror.

Luna blurted out, "You look like... like one of those troubled teens from a TV show, you know, the type that ends up in juvie."

"Then let it be. This is the only way I could think of to make Kieran hate me."

"Did it work? Does he hate you now?"

"Kind of..."

Thinking back to Kieran's reaction that morning, Freya felt it wasn't exactly hate.

No matter how hard she tried, Kieran just wasn't that into her—definitely not hate, but far from love.

Freya hesitated, "Why can't he just hate me? He used to be so good at it."

"Because back then you were always chasing after him like a lost puppy, that's why Mr. Sutton found you annoying."

Hearing this, Freya paused, "So, you mean if I keep chasing him, Kieran will continue to dislike me?"

"I think it’s a solid plan!"

While Luna was sold on the plan, Freya saw some merit in it too. But she couldn’t stand the thought of being a lapdog to Kieran.

It proved the saying, only a lapdog doesn’t realize they’re a lapdog.

Flattering Kieran? She couldn’t.

"By the way, Mr. Beckett said he wanted to see you."
