The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 220

Freya gasped sharply, her breath frosting in the air.

At that, Kieran instinctively released his grip on her.

Without looking back, Freya stormed down the stairs.

"Jarrett, keep up."

"Right away." Jarrett followed closely behind Freya. Wherever she went, he was there. If she took the stairs, so did he.

When they reached the pharmacy on the ground floor, Freya realized she didn't have a bag to carry her medications. Trying to juggle six boxes in her hands proved futile as they started to scatter on the floor. Just as she was about to pick them up, she saw Kieran's immaculate leather shoes.

She held her breath in annoyance. ‘Hell, Kieran is like a bad penny!

"Jarrett, pick those up for Ms. Dawson."

"Understood." Jarrett bent down and gathered all the scattered boxes from the floor.

Freya stood up, facing Kieran. "Mr. Sutton, enjoying the show?"

"I find it rather amusing," Kieran replied with a satisfied smirk.

But the next instant, Freya threw the boxes at Kieran's face, her voice cold as ice. "Looking for a laugh at my expense? Dream on."

Turning on her heel, Freya walked away, but Kieran reached out, grabbing her arm tightly, "I've told you before! Without the title of being Kieran's fiancée, you're nothing. Now, I'm offering you a chance to choose again. Continue being the downtrodden Ms. Dawson, or become my fiancée!"

"Mr. Sutton, aren't you too full of yourself?" Freya snapped back, yanking her arm free from his grip. She continued with disgust in her eyes, "Being the fiancée of someone from the Sutton family? I'm not interested. I'd rather be the 'downtrodden Ms. Dawson.' But let me warn you, Kieran. Don't be too quick to celebrate. It's not yet clear who will have the last laugh."

With that, Freya left the hospital behind her.
