Meanwhile, back at Sutton Group, it was already 9 PM, yet no one in the conference room dared to leave.
Since Kieran returned to start the meeting, his mood had been visibly dark. It was clear to anyone with eyes that his mind wasn't on the meeting. He seemed lost in thought.
After a while, even Jarrett couldn't stand it any longer.
Leaning towards Kieran, Jarrett whispered, "Mr. Sutton... it's 9 o'clock."
Kieran returned to reality, glancing at his watch to see it was 9 PM.
"Let's call it quits," he said, his voice as cold as ice.
Seeing Kieran so distracted, Jarrett hesitated before saying, "Mr. Sutton, about the proposal we discussed..."
"We'll revisit it," Kieran said, leaving the conference room.
The folks in the room shot nervous looks at each other, all thinking, 'Go over it again? What the heck have we been discussing till now?'
Kieran's demeanor was unusually intimidating, sending shivers down the spines of those present. They had never seen Kieran looking so formidable.
In the CEO's private elevator, Kieran asked casually, "How's Freya's interrogation going?"
"No news yet. I'll call and rush it."
"No, I'll go there myself."
"Ah?" Jarrett was shocked. ‘Himself?’
Seeing Kieran's fierce look, Bob stuttered. "I thought you wanted us to interrogate her properly."
"Take me to her now!" Kieran stormed off toward the cell block, with Bob hurrying after.
Inside the cell, after what felt like ages, the female inmate attacking Freya was getting tired.
And Freya, on the ground, was covered in bruises and blood.
"Hey, maybe we shouldn't go too far, yeah? What if she dies? What then?"
Seeing Freya's condition, the lead inmate couldn't help but feel a twinge of fear. Despite the beating, Freya hadn't screamed once, only laughed. That laugh was chilling, even to her.
But before her crew, the inmate tried to sound tough. "Scared of what? We're following orders! As long as she doesn't die, she has to talk!" With that, she walked over to Freya, yanked her up from the ground, and prepared to continue.
