The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 273

"Dr. Reynolds had arrived last night," Sarah mentioned, glancing over her shoulder as she led the way, "Mr. Sutton asked me to take you to the hospital now."

"What about Kieran? He's not here, is he?"

Mentioning Kieran made Freya tense up visibly.

With a hint of curiosity in her voice, Sarah replied, "Mr. Sutton mentioned that he won't be accompanying Ms. Dawson for these minor check-ups anymore."

"That's a relief." Freya let out a sigh, more to herself than to Sarah.

"A relief?" Sarah paused, slightly taken aback.

Was Ms. Dawson really that averse to seeing them, especially Mr. Sutton?

This wasn't like the Freya she remembered.

Noticing Sarah's puzzled look, Freya quickly added, "Mr. Sutton is a busy man, he really shouldn't be wasting his time on me. Weren't we headed to the hospital? Let's get going."

Freya was eager to get her physical therapy started. With only nine days left until the exam, if her right hand couldn't wield a pen, she'd have to resort to using her left.

Though Sarah found it odd, she didn't press further and continued leading Freya downstairs.

The downtown hospital was a hive of activity early in the morning. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a team of specialists flown in from abroad, everything was set for Freya's arrival. As soon as she walked in, she was swiftly ushered into the consultation room.

Among the figures in the room, one particularly handsome man caught Freya's attention. He appeared to be of mixed heritage, with deep-set, sky-blue eyes that seemed to sparkle.

He must have noticed Freya's gaze because soon, his eyes were scrutinizing her.

Standing by Freya's side, Sarah keenly observed this exchange. She contemplated whether she should inform Mr. Sutton of this unexpected development when suddenly Freya leaned closer and whispered, "Is that doctor here for my consultation? What's his story?"

"He's one of the youngest leading specialists from abroad, Dr. Anderson—Neil Anderson. Despite his youth, he's nearly hitting thirty."
