"Fine, it's not your fault," Kieran said softly, patting Eloise on the head. "I'll have Jarrett drive you home."
Eloise's heart skipped a beat when she realized Kieran wouldn't take her home himself. But she knew she couldn't push her luck, so all she could do was lower her head and say, "As long as you're not mad at me, that's all that matters, Kieran... I can't lose you."
After saying that, Eloise followed Jarrett to the car.
Meanwhile, Freya was about to head home when Kieran pulled her aside against a wall as she turned the corner.
"You!"
Freya instinctively wanted to resist, but Kieran grabbed her arm and said coldly, "Freya, you seem in quite the rush to leave."
"Mr. Sutton, shouldn't you be comforting Ms. Harwood instead of bothering with me?"
Freya frowned, wanting nothing to do with Kieran.
Seeing this, Kieran let go of Freya, his voice cold as he said, "Freya, are you disappointed we couldn't cancel our engagement?"
Kieran didn't miss the dissatisfaction in Freya's eyes.
