Johanna was left standing alone, her heart pounding in her chest.
Just then, her phone lit up with an urgent call. “Mrs. Dawson! Our company’s back is against the wall! Do you have any way to raise the funds?” The shareholder on the other end, Mr. Brown, sounded frantic.
“Mr. Brown, please calm down. I’m working on it as we speak!” Before Johanna could finish, another call beeped in, demanding her attention.
With a sigh, Johanna switched lines.
"Mrs. Dawson, how's the Dawson Group doing? When can we get our project back on track? I need a clear answer! If you can't deliver, I'll have to take my business elsewhere!"
The voice of another anxious partner, Mr. Smith, filled her ear.
“Mr. Smith, we’re doing everything we can. Please sit tight and give us a little more time!”
“How can I sit tight now? I'm telling you, if you don’t have a solution by this afternoon, consider our deal off!” The line went dead.
Staring at her phone, Johanna took a deep breath. ‘This Freya! What is she doing?’
By lunchtime, Johanna pulled herself together and drove to the Dawson Group.
As soon as she entered, she was met with chaos. The sight of Johanna prompted everyone to swarm her, demanding answers.
“Everyone, please! Let’s settle down! Mrs. Dawson is here to address your concerns!”
Galen walked her in.
