The man in the RV was dressed in a black suit with a white shirt, as he sat on a dark gray couch with a work-specific computer in front of him.
He was focused on the constantly changing data undulating lines on the screen, while replying to his son, “If you don't want to go in, let's go back the same way we came.”
Upon hearing that, Zachary immediately hugged Xavier's thigh. “Mr. Dartsley, you must take me inside.”
He stroked the child's head and smiled.
The door of the RV was shut and the car stopped directly in front of the entrance instead of the parking lot.
The exterior design of the RV was highly private and concealing, and the staff at the entrance was very polite, not driven by curiosity to peep inside.
Since the black Bentley RV was blocking the way in front of the main entrance, other vehicles had to stop behind it and the drivers would drive off after their passengers got down.
The bosses who got down would usually glance at the RV to check the number plate but they would not try to guess who was in the vehicle.
All they knew was that they should not mess with the people in such a car parked in this manner.
Cayden was still staring at the set of data lines, but his mind had wandered elsewhere.
The businesslike environment in the RV that night, the perfect facial features framed by the tough jawline, and the solemn firm square forehead painted a picture of indifference and ruthlessness.
After a long while, Cayden's expression seemed warmer. He raised his wrist and glanced downward indifferently at the time displayed on his watch.
Xavier had already been inside for twenty minutes, but he was still not out yet.
Upstairs in the clubhouse, Zayne was so anxious that he cursed.
He had searched everywhere, but he could not find Avery.
From the social media group, Fernando fired him with a message: Dude, is this the way to behave? It's not right! You've already had fun with my wife. When it's my turn to have fun with your ex-girlfriend, you make this blunder! Are you online? Is it a big problem to reply to me? If you don't reply me, I'll remove you from this group! Guys who want to have fun should not behave this way.
After reading these messages, Zayne replied: I'm sorry. I did not expect this to happen. When my attention was diverted, she disappeared from my line of sight.
Fernando replied: Can't you ask around? There are so many guys in your company that I'm sure you'll find her if you ask them one by one.
Zayne texted: I cannot ask them. Bro, I need this job. In our country, because of my training, this is the best company for me to use my talents and knowledge. Try to understand, okay? I'm still searching.
Fernando texted angrily: If you want me to understand you, you should try to understand my situation first. I've already taken the pill and it has taken effect. I'm afraid my blood vessels will burst if I wait any longer.
Zayne wrote: Wait for my update.
At this point, Yvonne who was so tired that she could fall asleep standing, came round the corner of a corridor with a cup of coffee in her hand.
When she came out of the restroom, she felt tired and her eyes were swollen as if she had worked overnight. However, she had a departmental meeting and she had to look sharp in front of her new colleagues.
She went out and got a cup of coffee. After a few sips, she felt even more tired.
When Zayne saw her stumbling, he quickly went to help her. “Are you all right?”
The coffee spilled and stained her clothes.
“Yeah.” Yvonne raised her head, leaning against the wall next to her male colleague, Zayne who was holding her waist. She shook her head, barely able to open her eyes. “It's okay”
After muttering the last sentence, it seemed as if her last ounce of strength had been spent, and her soft body fell limply into Zayne's arms.
Zayne was at a loss what to do.
Fernando had made a request to him, expressing the desire to have fun with a drugged woman. Zayne knew the former had wanted him to put Avery to sleep first, and then send her over.
Sleeping pills were safer than aphrodisiacs, and Zayne was quite willing to do so since the risk was lower.
However Avery had been tricked by Milana before and so, she had become wary. If he was to offer her a glass of liquor, she would certainly not accept it, as it could be drugged.
So, he got others involved, casting a wider net. The sleeping pills were put in more than just one glass.
Zayne had not expected that Yvonne who had a powerful background would fall victim.
Now, he was just worried about how to deal with Yvonne.
Should I send her to a private room? What if the colleagues suspect that something was amiss?
After all, they had not drunk much yet and Yvonne being drunk did not sound plausible.
Zayne looked around. Since Avery had not been found yet and he had indeed had his fun with Fernando's wife, he made the decision to send Yvonne over to Fernando.
Yvonne was not a natural beauty like Avery who had an innocent air, but with the right makeup, her appearance could be improved.
Zayne carried Yvonne but he was afraid passers-by would suspect something was wrong. So, he went toward Fernando's private room, muttering lovingly, “You won't listen to me and you insisted on drinking. What would happen if I'm not here to pick you up?”
Fernando was waiting in the room, with a bath towel wrapped around his waist. He picked up his mobile phone and saw the message from Zayne, as well as the photo of this “substitute woman”. Angrily, he ripped off the towel and dropped it.
In another wing of the clubhouse, Cecelia was searching for Avery.
After searching for a long time, Cecelia was unable to locate her. She pointed to the bathroom in front and said, “That is the only place I haven't looked inside yet. You wait here, I'll go in and take a look.”
Xavier was waiting outside with the boss' two kids.
“Is Ms. Ery all right?” Rory asked her elder brother who was looking worried.
Before coming to the club, Xavier had called Cecelia.
Cecelia came out of the private room immediately. When she met Xavier, she said she did not know where Avery was and she was worried too after searching for her in vain.
Under these circumstances, Xavier was stressed.
He understood Cayden too well. The boss had not said he was worried but he was here personally and even though he sat inside the car without coming down, it meant that he wanted to be sure that Avery was safe.
In order to confirm that Avery was safe, Cecelia did as Xavier asked. She went back to the private room to check. A few of them were absent, including Zayne and Yvonne.
Both of them were antagonistic toward Avery.
She was particularly angry when Yvonne replied to her call, saying, “Excuse me, Ms. Zuckerberg. I'm not Avery's slave. Am I supposed to know where she is?”
Zayne's reply consisted of just three words. “I don't know.”
If that is so, we must search for her.
If they couldn't find her, they would have to screen the surveillance camera recordings.
“We've found her. She's been found.”
Cecelia hurried outside and pointed to the women's restroom with a strange expression. “Ery is asleep inside, and she won't wake up no matter how I shake her. I fear something is wrong, but there's nothing I can do. Why don't you go in, Mr. Dartsley, and carry her out first?”
When Xavier heard that, he took out his phone immediately.
He did not dare to carry Cayden's woman in his arms.
