The work team had bought the bagels outside, and the only thing homemade was the oatmeal.
That was because everyone didn't like how oatmeal made elsewhere wasn't thick enough.
It was the children's first time eating bagels from the countryside, and they wanted more despite having finished two.
Rory glanced at Xavier eagerly while shoving a bagel into her mouth. “Can I have some more?” she asked in a muffled voice.
“Slow down. I'll go get more,” Xavier replied while stroking the girl's head.
As he got up, he turned to the other employees. “Enjoy your food. I'm going to buy some more bagels.”
Indeed, there weren't enough bagels on the table anymore, given how Cayden had suddenly shown up with his kids, who then helped themselves to the food as well.
The morning was no longer peaceful in Livingsfill, for the streets were now filled with vendors selling breakfast.
Xavier stood in front of a vendor and requested fifteen bagels. Just as he was about to pay, he spotted an elegant woman in a suit walking into the courtyard. She looked to be in her thirties.
“It's one-eighty per bagel, so that would be twenty-seven in total for fifteen bagels.” The vendor packed the bagels and passed them to Xavier.
The latter handed the money over. “Thank you.”
Upon returning to the courtyard, Xavier saw the woman in her thirties standing in front of the team having breakfast. “Excuse me, is there an Avery Rumpley among you?” she asked softly.
The group turned to her at once, but before saying anything, they glanced at Xavier instinctively.
Cayden was upstairs, so Xavier would be the one calling the shots at the moment.
Hence, everyone looked toward the man who ranked above them in the hierarchy.
Following their gazes, the woman who had a limited edition Hermès handbag in her hand and porcelain skin turned around.
It was then she noticed Xavier who was standing behind her.
As a man nearly in his forties, Xavier was extremely level-headed, and that was certainly reflected in his demeanor. “You are?”
“My name's Alina Rumpley. I'm Avery's aunt,” the woman responded, introducing herself and stating her purpose of visit. “I heard from our neighbors that she's currently here.”
Xavier glanced at her before handing the bagels over to Christopher.
He then turned to her again. “Avery's still upstairs at the moment. How about you have a seat for now?”
“Is it okay if I go upstairs to see her?” Alina appeared desperate to meet her niece after not seeing her all these years.
“Sorry, Ms. Rumpley,” Xavier answered, looking troubled. “Our boss is currently upstairs too. He might have something important to discuss with her.”
Alina nodded in understanding.
Xavier then brought a chair over for her, inviting her to join them for breakfast if she didn't mind.
However, the woman politely declined, expressing that she had already eaten.
Back upstairs, the temperature inside the tiny room began to rise as a lustful Cayden pinned the long-exhausted Avery to her bed.
Beads of sweat rolled down her body, causing her beautiful skin to shine under the morning rays.
She could clearly see the way her legs arched because of what the man was doing to her.
“Stop... Please, I'm begging you... Ahh...” she cried out in despair over his bottomless desire.
The woman parted her lips as Cayden relished in her well-developed figure. He thrust himself into her so hard that she was on the verge of passing out.
Still, after so many eventful nights, while the man's advances were so unbearable, she couldn't deny how much she yearned for him too.
As moans filled the room, Avery felt her bed sheets getting soiled again.
The sheets were wet and sticky underneath her, which made her especially uncomfortable.
As it was now past breakfast, there were no longer the shouts coming from food vendors outside, and the voices of Avery's coworkers could soon be heard.
After being ravaged while facing him, Avery was then flipped in the other direction, and the floors creaked to Cayden's rhythm.
“Mmm... Ahh...” Avery bit down on her pillow, not daring to cry out loud.
The sheets began to crease once again beneath her silky skin, and with a whimper, she soon climaxed alongside the man before returning to silence.
As the sun shone directly into the room, Avery nearly passed out in fatigue under the blanket.
Even so, she had noticed the man get up after exiting her.
Avery felt thirsty and drained as her thick lashes flickered.
Although she was so filled with tiredness that she could barely open her eyes, she could vaguely see the clothes and other things scattered all over the floor.
Having done it in the bathroom and then the living area, the two had caused a huge mess—from knocking over Avery's luggage to loosening the floor tiles.
Avery could hardly breathe at the thought of that.
Cayden had come upstairs under her colleagues' gazes and created such a ruckus.
She didn't know if they had heard anything, but she certainly hoped and prayed they hadn't.
The narrow room was now filled with their heavy, post-coitus breaths.
Just as Avery was about to drift off, Cayden, who had already put on his suit, walked over.
Apart from his facial features looking extra beguiling after being overcome with lust, Cayden looked completely normal everywhere else, as though he hadn't just partaken in an intense session with Avery.
Avery noticed a warm and wet towel in his hand.
“Are you going to take a bath, or should I help you?” he muttered closely into her ear.
Avery was so embarrassed that she never wanted to come out from under her blanket.
Sensuality filled every inch of the room.
Seeing her remain unmoving, Cayden silently pulled the blanket aside and began to wipe her body gently with the white towel, moving so carefully as though trying his best to avoid scraping her skin.
“I'll do it myself.” Jumping in shock, Avery suddenly regained some strength and sat up before taking the sterilized towel from him.
Cayden stilled briefly as he gazed at the charming woman from above while holding onto the edge of the bed with his two hands. With a narrowing of his eyes, he gulped and suddenly scooped her up in his arms.
“What are you doing? That's enough!” A fear-stricken Avery trembled as she glanced at his chiseled profile.
