The CEO Gets What He Wants novel Chapter 446

Cayden chuckled and ruffled her hair before pressing a kiss on her nose. He joked, “This friend of mine is a scammer wanted by Interpol. Are you scared?”

“W-What?” Avery's jaw dropped wide open in shock.

Cayden took in her adorable response and reached out to pinch her earlobe. “What a fool. Did you seriously believe that?”

Avery balled her fists up and gave him a light punch when she saw his teasing look. “You need to cut it out! Don't tease me like this and make me worry!”

Cayden felt a wave of warmth wash over his heart as he beheld her beautiful face lit up with laughter. She looked even more exquisite than the peach blossoms in full bloom during the month of March.

Temperament was an incredibly special quality that was often intangible yet had the ability to greatly increase a woman's attractiveness. It was a quality that could enhance a person's elegance, grace, brilliance, and countless other characteristics that made them so likable and charming. Even though it was a quality that was often hard to explain, Cayden felt its presence in the most pleasant of ways.

Cayden took her hand and told her gently, “You don't need to be worried about me. I'm capable of making wise decisions of my own. There's no reason to get upset over trivial things. You have three children who look up to you, so you need to be strong for them and demonstrate the right attitude.” He then squeezed her hand lightly.

Avery seemed torn. “I know. I can't help it, though. It seems that it is common for pregnant women to experience sadness and mood swings.”

“I'll be with you, and I'll make sure you never cry,” Cayden promised. He led her across the steps carefully as they made their way deeper into the garden.

Peach Blossom Acres was an expansive estate that spanned acres and acres of land. It was home to a multitude of different species of peach trees, and they were all in full bloom. The blossoms on the trees created an incredible landscape.

They leisurely walked along the winding pathway, allowing themselves to truly bask in the tranquil atmosphere.

Cayden had been feeling overwhelmed by the pressures of work, but now, he could take a much-needed break from the stress and tension of his job. He was filled with an immense feeling of joy and contentment as he looked out at the breathtaking scenery with Avery. She had taught him how to open up his heart and love someone deeply and unconditionally. To him, she was his future and gave him a purpose in life.

Around ten minutes later, Avery suddenly halted in her tracks and turned to stare at Cayden's handsome face.

A smile tugged at Cayden's lips as he asked, “Are you tired? Do you want me to pick you—”

Before he could finish his sentence, Avery stood on tiptoes and flung her arms around his neck to kiss him, trailing kisses across his forehead, the bridge of his nose, his lips, and finally, his jaw. She then pulled away and flashed a smug smile.

Cayden was surprised at her actions. She was shy, so it was usually him who initiated their kisses.

It was rare for her to take the initiative to kiss him.

His heart skipped a beat as he leaned in to kiss her cheek. “We're in broad daylight. Don't you feel shy?”

A sly glimmer twinkled in Avery's eyes as she grinned mischievously. Her lips curved into a smirk, and she said, “It's just us here. You always seem to be the one to initiate kisses, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to make the first move. And the setting is perfect, don't you think?”

As though to verify her claim, a loving couple was engaged in a heated kiss in an ancient-looking pavilion not far away from them.

The temperature was pleasantly warm, with the birds chirping merrily and the sweet scent of the flowers lingering in the air. It was the perfect ambiance for lovers to express their affection for one another.

Cayden was about to speak when Avery shut him up with a kiss.

Avery was having difficulty standing on her tiptoes due to Cayden's tall stature, but she still enjoyed the game of surprise kisses as they walked along the path together.

Rows of peach trees on both sides of the path were densely packed together and bursting with beautiful pink blossoms that looked like miniature rosy clouds. As the sweet scent of the blossoms wafted through the air, their single-layered white and pink flowers unfurled, radiating a dazzling beauty that resembled snowflakes in the bright sunlight. If one were to peer closely into the bright yellow petals of the flowers, one would be able to observe the honeybees that were actively gathering honey.

As they ventured further and further into the garden, they were surrounded by a veritable sea of peach blossoms. The air was thick with the sweet, pungent aroma of the flowers, becoming increasingly strong with each passing moment.

They decided to sit down and rest when they arrived at a rattan chair.

Avery praised, “The peach blossoms are gorgeous. I believe the owner of Peach Blossom Acres is a person who knows how to live life to the fullest.”

Seeing her enthusiasm, Cayden flashed an affectionate smile. “If you like Peach Blossom Acres that much, why don't I purchase it for you?”

He proposed buying the immense Peach Blossom Acres with such ease that it was as if he was discussing the weather.

The man wanted to give her anything she desired.

It was often said that truly loving someone meant wanting to give them the best of everything and being willing to give up anything to see a smile on their face.

“Huh?” Avery's eyes turned as wide as saucers.

As Cayden didn't seem like he was joking, she quickly rejected his offer. “You can't do that. Peach Blossom Acres is breathtakingly beautiful, so it's obvious that its owner spent a lot of effort to maintain its upkeeping. It wouldn't feel right taking this away from them.”

Most importantly, she knew property in this area wasn't cheap even though it wasn't technically as expensive as land in Ackleton itself. That was because it was located in Ackleton's outskirts. The garden itself spanned thousands of acres, so it would cost a bomb to purchase it.

She might like it, but that didn't necessarily mean that she wanted it to be hers exclusively. She would never take advantage of Cayden's love for her and act however she liked.

Cayden treasured Avery for her lack of worldly desires.

He said solemnly, “I'll buy a piece of land so you can plant whatever you want. You can build your own secluded paradise.”

Assuming Cayden was teasing her, Avery didn't take his promise to heart. Her gaze flicked up to his handsome face as her heart pounded in her chest. Unable to resist the temptation, she leaned in and kissed him passionately. Nothing could illustrate her love for him more clearly than the tenderness of physical contact.

Cayden returned her kiss enthusiastically.

They were engaged in a fiery kiss when Avery felt a cool object being placed around her neck.

She gazed downward, her eyes widening in awe upon the sight of an exquisite emerald necklace draped around her neck. Its hue was a brilliant, captivating emerald green, laced with a subtle tinge of teal. It was obviously worth a great deal of money.

Avery knew Cayden was fond of giving her expensive gifts, so she immediately lost interest in kissing him.

She unclasped the necklace and returned it to him. “I can't take this. You've already given me one, and I—”

“I bought this necklace at a stall in an ancient city when I was on a business trip,” he explained. “I think it suits you a lot. It wasn't too expensive as it cost only a few thousand.”

Avery met his gaze and came to the conclusion that he was not deceiving her. The price seemed acceptable to her, so she accepted the gift readily.

Thereafter, she never questioned Cayden's explanation that the necklace was not particularly valuable and assumed he was telling the truth. It wasn't until many years later, when she attended an antique auction wearing this very same necklace, that she realized she had been deceived. A renowned expert in antiques, who happened to be at the auction, looked at her in shock and amazement, and it was then that she came to understand that the necklace was worth more than a few thousand.

The necklace she had assumed to be inexpensive was actually one of a kind, the only one of its kind in the whole world.
