When Avery was telling Cayden about her blind date, she caught an unsurprising glimpse of him frowning even deeper. In fact, he looked rather scary.
“Let go of me! There's no point in dwelling on this!” When she said this, she actually meant it for herself.
Cayden widened his eyes, and his expression turned grim.
Avery was still lying in between his legs, and she was slightly holding her breath with her lips pursed.
After what seemed like a long time, Cayden suddenly let go of her waist and wrist.
After being let go, Avery finally regained her freedom. At that moment, she looked neither happy nor upset.
She got up and tidied herself up before picking up her purse.
When she was about to open the car door and leave again, Cayden was filled with jealousy, and he lunged at her before pinning her down against the passenger seat.
Cayden held her down and asked, “Why are you wearing so little clothes? Is it for the blind date? What? Is wearing less your way of seducing men?”
With his deep and bewitching eyes, Cayden stared deeply into her panicked ones.
Avery knew he was just venting his anger. I'm wearing a pair of long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. Before I came out, Nina was still telling me I was wearing too conservatively for the blind date. She had even said I look like an old virgin!
Ever since the moment she heard about Leonardo's lung cancer, Avery seemed to have lost interest in everything. Besides, it doesn't matter how I look for my blind date. What matters is personality. If a man only cares about what I wear, I doubt we would be suitable for each other. Yet, why did he say I'm wearing too little? Was he calling me a sl*t?
Avery looked at him solemnly and retorted, “Mr. Moore, do you have a problem with your eyes? I'm the most conservative person in the company in terms of attire. How am I wearing less?”
At that moment, Cayden looked pissed off. He knew Avery wasn't dressed provocatively at all. In fact, she was dressed very conservatively. But how is she able to make me want her so badly when she's dressed so conservatively?
“If that man is still aroused by how I'm dressed, I don't think it's something I can help with.” In other words, Avery was criticizing Cayden for having a dirty mind.
“You're the only woman I know who's capable of acting indecently with decent attire.” That was the first time Cayden had experienced her wittiness.
As a punishment for her, he lowered his head and kissed her on her lips.
“Mmph...” The kiss came so swiftly that she was furrowing her brows. Due to the injuries in her mouth, she was having trouble trying to cope with them.
Does everyone else kiss as aggressively as this? Avery was sure that Cayden was just more violent compared to other men.
Although he could taste the faint metallic scent of blood in her mouth, he found it to his liking.
By then, he was rubbing his tongue against the wounds in her mouth she had sustained from kissing.
As a result, the atmosphere in the car was getting even more amorous.
He then gradually lowered the passenger seat. In response, Avery shook her head and wiggled her body to reject him.
“Why are you twisting your body when a man is on top of you? Are you saying that you want more of it? You want more excitement, don't you?” Cayden seemed a little breathless. He was afraid that her enthusiasm would make him lose his mind and want her there and then.
Avery lifted her gaze and blinked continuously in fear.
She was scared that he would force himself onto her. It's almost time for my blind date. I can't be late for the blind date Dad has arranged for me. Besides, I can't bail on it either.
She was willing to do whatever was necessary to get her father to go to the hospital.
Avery was very objective about it. Only those who have experienced it will know that in the face of life and death, everything in the world becomes no longer important, just like five years ago.
Since Leonardo's days were numbered, she felt that her chastity was not at all important compared to her father's precious life.
Although her parents had given her life, she hated her mother, but she was extremely grateful to her father.
She knew Leonardo had sacrificed too much for her. I've misunderstood Dad for over the past year. I can't imagine how hurt he must've felt when I said those harsh words to him on the phone.
“Why are you suddenly going on a blind date?” Cayden was certain that there was no rush for her to jump onto the next, considering that she had just broken up with Zayne.
Avery merely shook her head and kept mum.
Again, he started kissing her. Their bodies were so close to each other that they could feel each other's warmth.
Cayden licked her lips and asked in a deep voice, “I'm going to ask you again. Why are you going on a blind date?”
Avery stared at him and struggled to find the words to answer him.
“Well, judging by the look in your eyes, it seems like you're craving something, aren't you?” While kissing her, Cayden started unbuttoning her shirt aggressively.
“I-I'll talk...” She couldn't stand his sensual touches any longer.
Cayden stopped what he was doing and queried, “Why are you going on a blind date?”
Avery took a deep breath before revealing everything to him. She told him about how her father had kept his end-stage cancer from her and how he was worried about her being alone, so he wanted to find her a good husband.
Avery was leaning against the seat, and she had nowhere to escape. With Cayden on top of her and less than a centimeter away, she could feel his breath on her lips.
“Do you really want to go?” he asked.
“Yes. I must go,” she shut her eyes and answered with difficulty.
Cayden lowered his head and kissed her domineeringly. After suckling on her tongue, he frowned and asked, “Compared to me, are you more attracted to the man you're about to see on your blind date?”
Avery felt the pain on her tongue, and she opened her eyes to look at him. If he's really a man that I'm with every day, I bet he's going to suck me dry just by kissing me. I'm already feeling so much pain when he kisses me. What about when he does more than that?
She then shook her head and berated herself for thinking about something she wasn't supposed to think about.
“Well, his advantage is that he's not richer than you,” Avery answered honestly. “I haven't seen him, but I saw some of his information in the documents.”
Cayden was puzzled. “Is it wrong to be rich?”
Avery's heart raced, and she uttered with a pale face, “Maybe. At least that's the case with my family. My dad hates rich people.”
“Why does he hate rich people?” As a rich man, Cayden felt he had been incredibly wronged. How can a man who has accomplished nothing be called a man? Every man should aim to dominate the business world.
Avery merely shook her head in response because she didn't want to reveal the truth.
After she was born, her mother abandoned her and her father for money. That wasn't something she would want to tell Cayden about.
She was afraid that Cayden would sympathize with her, and she would end up not being able to resist him. He's the king of the business world, and he has influence over the whole city. If he were to do something for me, there's no way I can ever repay him.
“People with end-stage cancer are mentally unstable, huh? Fine. I'll send you to your blind date.” Cayden didn't give her any chance to reject his gesture. He then glanced at her again and said, “However, you have to do something for me in return.”
Avery glanced at him. “What is it?”
“Take the initiative and kiss me for ten minutes.” Cayden placed his hand on her forehead before moving it toward the back of her head. He was gesturing for her to not be shy and offer him her lips.
