Chapter 80
Miguel wasn’t even sure why he felt this way. It was like he had owned a dog come and go at his command.
-one that had always wagged its tail at him, desperate for his attention,
But now, that same dog had suddenly run off, found a new owner, and was eagerly pleasing them while treating Miguel with nothing but indifference
It wasn’t that he cared about the dog. He just couldn’t stomach the thought of it belonging to someone else.
But right now, the company was the bigger priority.
He dialed his lawyer, Harry Hayward. “Get in touch with Entica’s lawyer. We’re dropping the lawsuit and offering a settlement.”
Harry sounded confused. “Mr. Zucker, we have the upper hand. Last time, we were caught off guard by those videos, but that issue has already been dealt with. Why withdraw now?”
Miguel scoffed. “Do you think I want to? That lawyer of hers has his eyes on us. Once Cole finishes digging into his background, we’ll decide our next move
Harry frowned slightly. That lawyer, Lawrence?
I standing. Was he worth all this concem?
He had already looked into him. He was just a rookie who had barely passed the bar exam. Someone with no real standing. W
But Harry didn’t push further and simply replied, “Understood. I’ll contact them now.”
Enrica got the news after work.
Jover the phone, Zayne’s voice carried a h
Ja hint of amusement.
“Zucker Group dropped the lawsuit. They initially offered you 600 thousand dollars, but Lawrence negotiated it up to goo thousand dollars. The money should hit your account within three days.”
Enrica was stunned.
No wonder Miguel had been spamming her with calls that aftemoon. So Zucker Group actually backed down?
And… they were compensating her goo thousand dollars?
When Zayne first said Zucker Group would drop the lawsuit and pay compensation, Enrica hadn’t taken it seriously at all. But now… it had actually happened?
goo thousand dollars. She had never seen that much money in her entire life.
A surge of excitement rushed through her. “Lawrence is amazing! Not only does be stand up to powerful people, but he even managed to get his hands on such critical evidence.”

She assumed Zucker Group had backed down because of the
Zayne didn’t conect her. He simply chuckded, his voice low and smooth. “Let’s have dinner tonight. We should celebrate and thank Lawrence together.” That word “together” was like a small hammer tapping against Enrica’s heart.
For some reason, it made her feel as if the two of them were truly a couple, like they were at
tean.
“Alright! Dinner’s on me, and I can’t just keep all this compensation money for mysex. You and Lawrence deserve a share too.”
Eririca had never been one to be blinded by money. It was Lawrence who won the case and secured the crucial evidence.
She hadn’t even believed he could pull it off at first. If Zayne hadn’t convinced her to trust him, she probably would have switched lawyers long ago.
