The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back (Thalassa and Kris) novel Chapter 124

“So you and Clark... you’re serious now? Are you dating him?” Millie asked.

“I wish!” Luisa interjected. “She’s still going on about her ‘I’ll never fall in love again. Blah blah blah.’ But I know Clark will slowly melt her heart. Isn’t he so handsome?”

“Uh... yes.” Millie nodded, but in her head, she added, ‘but only on the outside.’

Indeed, she’d initially thought Clark was a gentleman, even if he’d seemed a bit too sweet. She’d even thought that she would be happy if he helped Thalassa to finally move on, but after everything Kris’s investigator had revealed, she was wishing for the complete opposite.

It troubled her that Thalassa was close to someone like Clark, but as much as she wanted to warn her friend, she couldn’t say anything because she feared Thalassa would accuse her of being sent by Kris to influence her or turn her against Clark.

She just hoped the investigators could find damning evidence soon or that Kris could somehow manage to convince Thalassa of how dangerous Clark was.

“What about you, Millie?” Luisa suddenly asked, pulling her out of her thoughts.

Millie raised a brow. “What about me?”

Luisa shrugged as she did a brief swirl in the water. “I just mean it really came as a surprise when your boyfriend suddenly showed up outside the restaurant that day. We didn’t even know you had a boyfriend because you never talked about him, and you still don’t. Why the mystery?”

Millie’s spine stiffened, but she managed to force a smile. “What do you want to know?”

“I don’t know. What’s he like? Kind? Gentle and sweet? A gentle lover or an absolutely wild beast in bed?”

Luisa laughed at her own joke, which forced Millie to chuckle. “Uh, he... he’s the most wonderful man there is.”

“Oh, just that?” Luisa wriggled her eyebrows teasingly. “No bedroom deets? Oh, come on, tell us. One of us hasn’t gotten fucked in more than three years and she could really use getting turned on by something.”

Thalassa knew Luisa was refering to her and glared at her.

“What? It’s not like I’m lying.” Luisa rolled her eyes with a small laugh before focusing on Millie. “So Millie? Deets?”

A nervous chuckle came out of Millie’s throat. “He’s... he’s good in bed.”

Luisa sighed with disappointment, realizing Millie wasn’t going to give any details like she’d hoped. “Okay, fine. Then tell us. How did you two meet? When did he ask you out? Was it love at first sigh–”

“Why can’t you just stop asking questions? Do you really need to know everything?” Millie suddenly snapped, cutting Luisa off.

Luisa’s eyes widened. “Millie...”

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have snapped at you. There are some things I’d rather not talk about.”
