The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back (Thalassa and Kris) novel Chapter 195

Chapter 195
“What do you think will happen when I hand all that evidence over to the police?”

Linda's heart thundered in her chest, but she gritted her teeth, refusing to let her anxiety show as she glared at Karen.

“You wouldn't dare.”

“Wouldn't I?” Karen scoffed, looking unfazed. “I have evidence in my hands that can destroy you. Your reign over me is over, Linda Miller. And just to be clear, the 2 billion you demanded for Henry to invest in your failing fashion house is off the table. Now, I’m the one calling the shots.”

“You don’t know who you’re messing with, you stupid girl," Linda sneered. "If you truly saw what was in the bag, you should know I’m capable of much more than just telling my son that your daughter isn’t his. I’ve told you before, and I’ll repeat it: you don’t want to be my enemy, Karen."

For a moment, Karen felt a shiver run down her spine, but she quickly shook it off, maintaining her confident expression. She wasn’t going to let Linda intimidate her—not this time.

“What’s an enemy locked behind bars?” she taunted.

“You’d be surprised," Linda replied, her voice low and dangerous. "You think you have wings now, that you can soar, but if you keep playing with fire, those tiny wings are going to burn right off. I’d be very careful if I were you.”

“Or what?” Karen shot back. “Are you going to traffic me and force me into prostitution like you helped do to all those women? I know exactly what you’re capable of, Linda, but I’m not as stupid as you think. That’s why I’m keeping myself protected."

She smiled triumphantly. “Don’t worry, I don’t intend to give the evidence to the police… as long as you stop threatening to tell Kris the truth about Tessa. I’ve hidden the bag somewhere very safe, somewhere you won’t find, even if you try. Let’s agree that we both have something we don’t want coming out, so you scratch my back, I scratch yours. Deal?”

Linda’s eyes burned with cold fury, but she didn’t bother to respond.

“I’ll take your silence as a yes? Good. I’ll tell Susan that you asked me to destroy the bag yourself. You better confirm that if you don’t want your daughter to know what kind of criminal you are.”

With that, Karen chuckled and walked off, leaving Linda glaring after her.

“You stupid girl,” Linda hissed under her breath. “Just wait and watch how I'll make you regret this.”

After speaking to Susan and leaving the station, Karen got into her car, smiling as she glanced at the medium-sized duffle bag sitting on the front passenger seat.

She had deliberately misled Linda, telling her the evidence was hidden somewhere she couldn’t guess, but she planned to hide it at her mother’s house.

Driving there, she grabbed the bag and unlocked the front door with her key.

“Oh, Miss Karen! It’s been a while,” the maid greeted her upon arrival.

“Yeah. Is my mother home?”

“No, she went out earlier but didn’t say where.”

“Oh, good,” Karen beamed.

This was even better. She could avoid her mother asking any questions about the bag.

“Let me help you with that,” the maid offered, reaching for the bag.

Karen quickly moved it out of her reach. “No, it’s fine.”
