The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back (Thalassa and Kris) novel Chapter 203

Chapter 203
Thalassa's hands trembled as she gripped her phone, her heart hammering in her chest after Betty's words echoed through the line: Kris knows. Panic shot through her veins like ice, but she tried to keep her voice steady as she spoke.

"What did you tell him?"

"I didn't tell him anything," Betty replied, her voice tight with worry. "But please, Thalassa, don't ask me to lie to him again. I won't be able to do it. He's determined. I can see it in his eyes. Nothing's going to change his mind."

Thalassa bit her lip hard. This wasn't happening. This couldn't be happening. She had only sent Kris a voicemail, telling him that they needed to talk. There was no way he could've known what she was going to tell him. So how did he find out?

"Thalassa?" Betty's voice broke through her thoughts. "What should I do?"

Thalassa's pulse raced faster, her mind racing to figure out why Kris would have gone to New York first instead of confronting her. Was he trying to take Alex away from her?

The thought sent a jolt of terror through her. "Don't let him in," she quickly instructed.

Betty hesitated. "It's just like last time, Thalassa. He's not leaving. He's just standing outside the gate. I don't think he's going to go anywhere, and I won't be able to watch him standing outside all day."

Closing her eyes, Thalassa dragged in a deep breath. "He won't have to," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm flying to New York. I'll be there in less than three hours."

She hung up as a shudder went through her. This wasn't how it was supposed to happen. She had envisioned a controlled conversation after Kris listened to her voicemail. She had wanted to tell him the truth calmly.

Now, everything felt out of control. Kris had found out before she could tell him, and she knew this wouldn't be the calm conversation she'd planned. It was going to be a confrontation, and she didn't know whether she was ready for it.

She needed to prepare herself. She needed to know how much he knew. But how could he have found out?

Her heart sunk. It couldn't be, could it?

Bringing up her phone again, she dialed Luisa's number. Her best friend picked up after a few seconds.

"Lassa?"

"You told me you wouldn't tell Kris." Thalassa accused, but there was no anger in her voice, just helplessness that someone had taken the chance of telling Kris the truth away from her.

Luisa instantly knew what she was talking about. "No, I didn't. I meant it when I said it wasn't mine to tell. Why are you asking?"

Thalassa believed her, though she felt even more confused now. "Betty called. Kris is in New York, and he knows the truth."

"Oh fuck." Luisa muttered.

On the flight to New York, Thalassa's thoughts were a chaotic blur. Her mind replayed every possibility, every potential reaction Kris might have.

At the airport, she was picked up by one of the men from Zeke's house, her heart thumping the closer they got to the house.

As the car neared the gate, she spotted Kris standing by the road in front of the house. His stance was rigid, his gaze locked on the house, his expression unreadable. Her heart squeezed painfully in her chest.
