The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 105

Chapter 105

“Haven’t I stayed here before? Haven’t we slept together under the same roof then?” he asked calmly.

“Why does it sound so shady?” exclaimed Rosalie inwardly upon hearing Jonathan’s questions.

Rosalie bit her lip. “But now…”

“What’s wrong with now?” he countered.

“There is no extra bedding here. I have put away your previous ones. They haven’t been washed or put under the sun yet. Even if I take them out now, they’ll smell awful.”

“Well, this is simple.” Jonathan took out his phone and gave some orders to the recipient of his call.

After a short while, there was a knock on the door.

When Rosalie opened the door, she saw Carlos and several bodyguards whom she had seen following Jonathan in the hospital previously. Currently, they were walking directly into her room with quilt sheets and pillows in their hands.

They entered and said, ‘Sorry for the intrusion, Ms. Leighton.”

Each one of them would say the same line.

The corner of Rosalie’s mouth twitched. At this moment, there was nothing she could reply to them other than “never mind.”

When everything was placed orderly, those people left the room one by one.

In an instant, only the two of them were left in the room.

Rosalie looked at the neatly made mattress next to her bed. It was the same as before. He slept on the mattress beside her bed too then.

“Are you really going to sleep here?” she asked hesitantly.

“Do you think I’m lying?” he countered in amusement,

“Is it still a game for him now? Otherwise, why would he

me in this small rental home when he has a poverty?” she wondered.

comfortable place to rest? Does he still want to experie to stay withi

However, she could only accept his decision.

Rosalie looked down and said nothing. She just took her change of clothes and wanted to

go to the bathroom.

Suddenly, a pair of arms were wrapping her from behind. “I just want to stay here tonight. It’s her birthday today.”

Rosalie was stunned. “Who are you talking about?”

However, he didn’t answer. He just buried his head deeply in her shoulder and whispered in a pleading tone, “Rosie, let me stay here tonight like old times. Okay?”

Her heart skipped a beat. Now, he was already Jonathan to her, but he was talking to her in Jon’s tone.

“Rosie, is it okay?” he asked again.

She hesitated for a while and finally asked, “Just for a night?”

“Yes, just for a night,” he uttered.

“All right then. Just for a night”

She thought. “This is just to thank him for saving me from the Foster family and for taking me to the hospital for treatment. If he hadn’t shown up at that time, I would have been in a different situation now.”

Only then did Jonathan let go of her.

Rosalie walked into the bathroom and closed the door. She looked at herself in the mirror.

Although she still looked delicate and pretty, she was much thinner compared to a few years ago. Nonetheless, her jaw seemed to be sharper.

In the past, when her life had still been normal, she had moaned all day about losing weight. She had been afraid that she wouldn’t have looked lovely in clothes if she had become fat.

Currently, she didn’t have to worry about her figure anymore. She was thinner now, but she wouldn’t think about whether the clothes looked lovely or not. What she would consider were only the price, the practicability, and also the durability of

the clothes.

Sometimes, she felt ridiculous when she thought about her past.

In the past, when she wanted something, she would try her best to achieve it. However, when her goal was achieved, she now

realized that she didn’t care about what she had originally wanted in her current situation.

Rosalie laughed at herself. She really didn’t understand the reason Jonathan still called her Rosie. He acted as if he still cared about her and missed their time together.

“Is he interested in me? He seems to like me very much at times. I can’t help but think that all this is just his acting.” Rosalie pondered.

Rosalie shook her head and stopped thinking about these matters. For now, she could only make one step at a time.

After washing up hurriedly, she walked out of the bathroom. She found Jonathan sitting on the mattress. Just like old times, he waited for her to say good night and then went to bed.

She stepped forward and greeted awkwardly. “Good night.” After that, she got into her bed hastily.

At this mornent, she just wanted to fall asleep quickly and let time pass by the night.

However, before she could shut her eyes, Jonathan leaned over and got closer to her. “Rosie, it seems that you haven’t called me by my name all night. I want to hear you call me.”

Her throat tightened. If she turned her back now and shut her eyes, it would look too obvious as if she was avoiding him.

However, she doubted that she would be able to talk to him face to face.

“What’s wrong, Rosie? Didn’t you promise that we can go back to the way things were before?” he asked.
