Chapter 1066
Right then, another car suddenly drove over before Warren rushed out of the vehicle. When he saw his mother pulling Amelia, he immediately stepped forward and said, “Mom, what are you doing here? What did you say to Amelia?”
After saying that, he looked at Amelia nervously. “No matter what my mother said, don’t take it seriously.” He seemed to be afraid that what his mother said would make her unhappy.
Lydia’s face darkened. “Don’t worry. I didn’t say anything unpleasant to Amelia.”
Warren was still suspicious, so Amelia said, “It’s true. Your mother didn’t say anything hurtful.”
Warren sighed with relief. “Mom, why are you here?”
“I just came to visit my daughter-in-law. You didn’t even tell the family about you getting married! Anyway, Amelia is pregnant now, so it is inconvenient to hold a wedding ceremony. Once the baby is born, and Amelia has recovered, then…”
But before Lydia could finish her words, Amelia interrupted her, “There won’t be a wedding.”
Lydia was stunned for a moment before she smiled. “You are the daughter-in-law of the York family. Of course, there should be a wedding. The York family will prepare a grand wedding, so you can rest assured that you won’t want for anything.”
Amelia knew that Lydia had misunderstood her. “Warren and I are just temporarily getting married for the sake of our baby. We will divorce after the baby turns one year old, so we don’t need a wedding.”
She didn’t intend to hide the truth from Lydia since this was simply a marriage of convenience.
Hearing this, Lydia looked at Amelia in disbelief before turning to Warren. In the end, she spun around and got into her car without saying a word.
Warren looked at Amelia and said, “I’m sorry. I’ll explain everything to her.” Then, he drove away.

Looking at the two cars that left one after another, Amelia bit her lip lightly. Lydia’s attitude today was truly unexpected to her.
She had thought Lydia would hate her. After all, her father was also involved in the decline of the York family years ago.
Then again, perhaps it was as Lydia said, and the debts between the Haab family and the York family had long been unclear.
In Warren’s mansion.
Lydia looked at her son and asked, “Are you seriously in a fake marriage with Amelia?”
“It’s not a fake marriage. We did go to City Hall and got our marriage certificate,” Warren said.
Lydia glared at her son. “When the child turns one year old, you two will divorce. What do you call a marriage that doesn’t even last two years, if not fake?”
“Well, for me, it isn’t fake!” Warren said, “Mom, this marriage is genuine to me. I have a marriage certificate with her. Legally, I am her husband. In the future, she and I will be listed as the parents on the child’s birth certificate. I am the father of her child!”
Lydia was shocked. “You… Are you crazy? ”
Warren smiled bitterly. “Mom, I’ve been crazy for a long time, don’t you know that? Back when I first learned the whole truth about how it was Amelia who donated her bone marrow to selflessly save me, how Irene deliberately framed her, and when I became an accomplice that forcibly sent her into prison, I’d already gone crazy!”
He had been crazy for so many years that he couldn’t even remember what it was like not to be.
Lydia’s eyes filled with tears. “Oh, the karma! How could this have happened? You… Does it really have to be her and no one else?”
“Indeed, why can it only be her and no one else?” Even he didn’t have the answer to that question.
Perhaps that was an indication of when one truly loved someone.
One would only fall deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole, and once the
object of their affection didn’t love them, it would be like losing

everything.
That night, Warren arrived at the Youngblood residence.
When Rosalie heard the butler’s announcement, she was surprised. “Warren is here?”
“Yes, he said he wanted to see Mr. Youngblood. And it seems like he also drank some alcohol as I can smell it on him,” the butler said.
Jonathan pondered for a moment and said, “Let him in.” Then, he turned to Rosalie. “I’ll go see what happened for him to come here so late.”
“Okay.” Rosalie nodded. After all, she was also curious about Warren’s sudden late-night visit.
Could it be that something had happened between him and Amelia?
Warren walked into the living room of the Youngblood family with a bottle of wine. Looking at Jonathan coming down the stairs, Warren raised the bottle in his hand and said, “How about having a drink with me?”
Jonathan raised an eyebrow slightly and asked, “You came here to drink?”
“Yeah, I want to have a drink with you. It’s not easy for me to find someone to drink with here in Strico. Upon further thought, you’re the only one I’m slightly more familiar with.” Previously, when Amelia was in the hospital, Warren had some dealings with Jonathan. Later, after Rosalie returned to the Youngblood family, they met a few more times because of Amelia’s relationship with her.

“Don’t you still have your subordinates? I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to drink with you if you ask them to,” Jonathan said.
“That’s different.” Warren smiled bitterly. “They can do things according to your orders, but they aren’t exactly meant for pouring one’s heart out to. Besides, my problems are private and not suitable for their ears.”
“So you came to me tonight to talk about it?” Jonathan said.
