Chapter 1187
When Amelia saw that, she didn’t say anything more and got into the car.
The car slowly left Lofbury and arrived in Strico three hours later.
When Matilda saw Amelia being driven back in a luxury car, accompanied by a young man who showed Matilda a respectful expression and spoke to Matilda politely, she immediately asked in confusion, “This is…? Did Warren send him to drive you back?”
“Yes, Mom,” Amelia replied.
“Now, you and Warren…”
“It’s a long story, Mom. I’ll tell you in a minute,” Amelia replied. Then she said goodbye to Frederick and returned to the concession stand with Matilda.
At the concession stand, Amelia told her mother everything that had happened at Strico, but not about Lucas and the fact that she had been hospitalized for abdominal pain.
Matilda wore a heavy expression as she listened to Amelia. “So you’re saying… you’re still going to live with him afterward?”
“Yes, but it’s only a one-plus year, not to mention he didn’t say anything about Aiden. This place is closer to Aiden’s school, so I’d like you to take Aiden with you. After that, I’ll live with Warren and the newborn. Warren can’t stay in Strico all day because his main job is in Lofbury. I don’t think he’ll spend much time in Strico at all. Anyway, we’ll be divorced one year after I give birth,” Amelia explained.
She thought, “Maybe when that day comes, Warren and I will go our separate ways.”
Matilda sighed. “It seems to be the only way.”
“It’s just that you’re going to have to work harder for the next year-plus,” Amelia added.
“I do not mind as long as you and two children are safe. It doesn’t matter how hard I work!” Matilda insisted.
Amelia’s eyes turned red as she hugged Matilda. “Mom, it’s good to have you.” No matter how many hardships Amelia had faced, Matilda was always by Amelia’s side, protecting her.

Matilda patted Amelia gently and said, “Remember, I am your mother.” The sentence alone carried its weight.
The next day, Amelia met with Rosalie and Lillian, who were shocked to learn of Amelia and Warren’s agreement.
“No way. What exactly is Warren trying to do? Didn’t he even go to the extent of hypnosis to erase his feelings? Then why does he still want to live with you like a normal married couple? And what’s this about agreeing to divorce afterward?” Lillian was confused.
Rosalie analyzed the situation. “Could Warren be trying to utilize this period to forget about you completely?”
Amelia smiled bitterly. “Exactly. He said that sometimes people want the most what they can’t get, but once they get it, they might realize what they want all the time isn’t so special. Maybe I’m not that special to him after all.”
Lillian had a headache when she heard that. “How could he be like that? Did he ever think he might be the one who ends up not wanting a divorce after living together with you?”
“No, he won’t.” Amelia shook her head. “He’s not the old him anymore. When I went to see him, the way he looked at me made me feel like I was insignificant to him.”
Lillian hesitated for a moment and then said, “Amelia, there’s no need for you and Warren to get to this point. Your physical condition isn’t necessarily that bad, not to mention that five years of safe time has passed. Why don’t we think of a way to restore Warren’s hypnotically erased emotions instead? That way, both of you…”
“No need for that. Let’s leave things as they are. This is good enough. I don’t want him to risk his life for me anymore,” Amelia cut in, suppressing her sadness and forcing a faint smile and added, “Lillian, it’s my choice.”
Lillian felt even sadder when she saw the smile on Amelia’s face and thought, “Of course, Amelia has developed feelings for Warren again. But why can’t two people who loved each other in the first place be together? Even if one’s love is too deep while the other’s is too shallow, couldn’t they still be together? No matter how deep or shallow the love is, it is still love, isn’t it?”
Rosalie quickly changed the subject when she saw that. “Regardless, now

that Warren has agreed to cooperate with Alicia’s probation, there’s hope that Amelia will learn about Riley’s whereabouts from Alicia. However, letting Alicia off like this seems to be giving her too easy a pass.”
“What choice do we have otherwise? She won’t tell unless she’s released from prison,” Lillian said.”
“I have an idea, but it may be difficult to implement, and it requires Warren’s cooperation,” Rosalie said. She did not want a perpetrator to escape the law, but she wanted to help Amelia find Riley’s whereabouts because she could empathize with Amelia’s feelings.
“Tell us the details!” Lillian was interested.
Amelia was also all ears.
So Rosalie lowered her voice and told Lillian and Amelia her idea.
Lillian’s eyes widened in astonishment, and she asked in uncertainty, “Do you think this can work?”
“I stumbled upon the idea by chance. It should work if the arrangement is sufficient. However, the plan requires the cooperation of several parties. And since Warren is a victim, we need his cooperation during the trial. We just don’t know if he’ll agree to that. But this is the only way we can find out where Riley is and let Alicia reap what she sows,” Rosalie explained.
