The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 1188

Chapter 1188

“We can also have fun at home. Do you guys know how to play poker?” Lillian asked and hurriedly continued, “Oh, right. Rosalie knows how. What about you, Amelia?”

“A little.” Amelia knew the basic rules, but she hadn’t played with anyone

for years.

“Let’s play poker then,” Lillian said.

“But there are only three of us. How do we play?” Rosalie asked.

“Callum called me and said he would come back early today. Calculating the time, he should be here in a few minutes. We’ll have four players!” Lillian stated.

As Lillian expected, Callum arrived a few moments later. She quickly pulled the table over to set up the game.

Callum raised his eyebrows and said, “I don’t know if you can play poker.

Lillian replied, “I used to be known as the poker expert in my family. When I visited my relatives during the New Year, I would play whenever they needed players.” Callum couldn’t help but laugh at the proud look on Lillian’s face.

“Okay, let’s see how good you are.” He ordered the housekeeper to bring a deck of cards while he said that.

Lillian bought the deck while shopping. It was a souvenir from a

celebrity event. She thought it was just a souvenir but didn’t expect it to come in handy.

However, the mansion had no poker table, so the four sat around an ordinary square table and played.

“The money you win is all yours. I’ll take all the losses,” Callum said.

“No way!” Amelia exclaimed.

“She’s right. You make the game pointless,” Rosalie said.

Lillian said, “Let’s bet a penny, just for fun, and we can bet too.”

“Sure,” Rosalie said.

Amelia smiled and said, “Okay.” Of course, she knew Lillian had

suggested a penny because the latter was being considerate. Otherwise, given Lillian’s and Rosalie’s financial status, it would not be a big deal to place huge bets.

Callum nodded with a smile.

If outsiders knew that the head of the White family played poker and bet with pennies, they would be shocked.

The four of them played poker, and in the end, Callum was the biggest winner, while Lillian lost the most.

“Poker expert?” Callum looked at Lillian.

Lillian’s face blushed instantly. “Um… It has been a long time since I last played. My skills got rusty. I’ll give you 2 dollars and a penny later!”

“I’ll transfer 40 cents to you, Amelia, and later, 60 cents to you, Callum,” Rosalie said.

“No need for that,” Amelia said hurriedly.

“I have to. You won the bet. Where’s the fun in that?” As Rosalie said, she used her phone to transfer the money to Amelia and Callum.

Amelia looked at the 40 cents transferred to her account and smiled. Even though Lillian and Rosalie were married to a prominent family, they still got along with each other as before without any conflict.

Maybe that was what they called friendship. Whether you were rich or poor, friends should be treated equally.

Just then the housekeeper came in with Jonathan.

Jonathan looked at the cards on the square table and was surprised. Then he walked over to Rosalie with a smile. “You rarely play poker. Did you win or lose?”

“I lost 1 dollar,” Rosalie said.

Jonathan was stunned for two seconds when he heard the amount. After all, there was nothing that could stun him for two seconds.

“You all bet 1 dollar?” he asked.

“No, just a penny,” Rosalie said.

Jonathan looked at the four of them and noticed Callum had the most

chips, but it was only a few dollars at most.

“It’s getting late. I came to pick you up. If you’re not back for dinner, I bet the two little ones at home won’t eat obediently,” Jonathan said.

Rosalie nodded and said to Amelia, “Amelia, I’ll send you home.”

“Thank you.” Amelia didn’t turn down her kind offer.

Just as they walked out of the White residence, they saw a car pulling over and Warren getting off.

Amelia was surprised. She thought Warren would come to Strico in a few days. His arrival surprised her. Moreover, he drove all the way to the White residence entrance.

Warren walked up to Amelia, nodded to Jonathan and Rosalie beside him, and then said to Amelia, “I heard from Matilda that you were here today. So I came over to check it out. Are you going back now?”

“Yes,” Amelia said.

“Then I’ll take you home,” Warren said.

Amelia replied in a low voice, “Okay.” Then she said goodbye to Rosalie and Jonathan and got into Warren’s car.

Rosalie looked at the departing car and said to Jonathan, “Aren’t you curious? Warren had already erased his emotions toward Amelia. Why did he get back together with her?”

“Why should I be curious? That’s their business. I only care about us. I should be curious about that instead,” Jonathan said.
