The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 167

Chapter 167

Rosalie was shocked. “What did you say?”

“Didn’t you hear me clearly, Rosie?” replied Jonathan patiently. “Since you don’t like that company, why don’t we have the company

delisted?”

His countenance looked as if he was talking about some mundane matters.

“But… What does he mean by delisting the company? wondered Rosalie.

Rosalie’s pupils suddenly contracted. She thought, Could it be what I think it is? That company is a newcomer in the food delivery industry. Although it is not on par with those well-known companies, its momentum has been quite good recently. I also read reports that recently, the company has successfully raised funds, and a firm will invest 340 million dollars into it.

How can such a company be delisted just by someone saying they would delist it?

But… If Jonathan is the one who is saying this, even if it sounds impossible, he will make it possible.

“Just because I don’t like it?” asked Rosalie as she stared dazedly at Jonathan.

He smiled and said, “I don’t like the people who sold you out. A company whose chairman tries to sell out people to get benefits, even if I don’t make a move, this kind of company won’t be able to make it into the big leagues either. In that case, it is better if they are taken care of earlier.”

For a moment, Rosalie only felt that there were so many things that she wanted to say, yet the words were stuck in her throat.

In between jokes, he could easily decide the life and demise of a company. If the company chairman knew this was the result of his phone call to Jonathan, he would never have made that call in the first place.

“By the way, Rosie, why aren’t you eating? Have some more,” said Jonathan. Then he ladled another spoon of one of the dishes and placed it into her bowl

He seemed to be gentle and considerate.

However, Rosalie knew that these were just illusions. No one could guess what Jonathan was thinking about. Maybe he would. take good care of you in the last second and make you fall into hell in the next second.

Rosalie lowered her head and ate the dishes in the bowl mechanically. Although the food looked delicious, she couldn’t taste anything as she ate them.

“Are you sure you don’t need me to introduce you to a job? This way, you can do whatever kind of work you want. You can even go back to your old line of work if you want,” said Jonathan.

“No… that’s not necessary. I can find a job for myself,” said Rosalie.

The next moment, the air seemed to have gone still. Even if Rosalie didn’t raise her head, she could now feel Jonathan’s gaze

fixed on her.

After a long while, Rosalie heard Jonathan’s voice. “Well, if you insist, we will do it according to your wishes.”

He then got up and left the dining hall.

Rosalie took a deep breath only after she heard Jonathan’s footsteps fade away. She raised her head and looked at the dining table. Half a bowl of food was still left on the table in front of his seat.

Jonathan hadn’t even finished his meal.

“Did my answer annoy

bim again?” wondered Rosalie. She couldn’t help but think about it. Then she mocked herself secretly. She thought. What is the use of thinking about this? If it is about him being annoyed, I have already provoked him from the beginning by refusing to stay with him.

And now, my injured finger has almost healed, but… I still have no way of leaving this place.

When exactly will I be able to leave?

Somehow, I feel that the longer 1 stay here, the deeper our bonds will become.

When Lillian woke up, she saw an unfamiliar ceiling and a dimmed crystal light hanging from it.

“This place… Where is this place?” wondered Lillian groggily.

Lillian was stunned for a moment before she started to recall what had happened earlier. Then, she sat up abruptly.

-I had some wine again and ended up drunk!” thought Lillian.

“Are you awake?” A voice resounded in the room. Lillian stiffened and then turned around to look at the side the voice came

from.

Sure enough, Callum was sitting on the sofa not far from the bed, and his gaze was fixed on her.

“I-I’m a-awake…” stammered Lillian in embarrassment. She quickly climbed down from the bed and checked her shirt and pants. “Glad they are still intact. I guess this means that nothing had happened,” she thought. But just in case, she asked, “I didn’t do anything after I got drunk, right?”

“You actually did quite several things. Which one do you want me to talk about?” asked Callum lazily.

Lillian’s jaw dropped in shock.
