The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 285

Chapter 285

“At least the job makes me feel that I can support myself,” Rosalie replied.

Hearing her words, Jonathan blinked his eyes and smiled at her. “Let me drive you to work today,” he said. He lifted the covers and got out of bed after planting a kiss on her forehead.

“Ah!” Rosalie screamed, hurriedly looking away. She saw his naked body just now.

Her shy look amused Jonathan. He felt she was extremely adorable.

“What? Don’t you like it?” He turned around and walked back to the bed. He supported himself on both sides of her body with his elbows, and his breath fanned her face.

Rosalie’s face blushed instantly. They were so close that she didn’t know where to look. “I-I’m just shy,” she explained.

“Don’t feel shy around me.” As Jonathan spoke, he took her hand to touch his chest. “Did you touch my chest last night, didn’t you? We both love each other. It’s natural for yoù to look at my body unless you don’t find it attractive.”

“Of course not!” she denied right away, her blush deepening. What was she talking about? Although what she said was true, it was…

Her palm felt the temperature of his chest.

“Stop acting shy. Rosalie, look at me, okay? I like you looking at me,” Jonathan whispered as if he was acting cute.

His voice tugged at her heartstrings. She couldn’t help but return her gaze to him.

His body was surprisingly beautiful and looked like an artwork.

He smiled gently and rose to his feet again. He began to change clothes under her gaze. During the moved his gaze away from her.

Meanwhile, she couldn’t take her eyes off him when she met his gaze.

When he dressed up, her face was scarlet red. He took out her clothes from the wardrobe and helped her to put on them gently.

“I-I can dress by myself,” she muttered.

“But I like changing clothes for you. It’ll make me feel like you’re more reliant on me,” he explained.

Rosalie was stunned. “Why do you like me relying on you?”

“The more you rely on me, the more you won’t leave me,” he replied.

She pursed her lips. At that moment, he was kneeling in front of her and helping her wear socks. His actions were gentle, unlike how the others portrayed him.

Rosalie used to think that a man like Jonathan would be confident and proud and liked to be in charge.

But now, she always felt that he was insecure. Even when they were together, he was always afraid that she would stop loving him, leave him, or refuse to forgive him.

Why did a man like him feel insecure? Was it because of his mother? His mother used to betray his father, making him feel insecure.

Was it because her mother cast a shadow on him?

He had a faintly visible scar on his chest. He explained that the scar was caused by his mother, who shoved him to the ground as she was going to leave, which nearly killed him at the time.

The ferocious scar went shallower and shallower over time, but it never vanished.

In fact, with today’s cosmetic surgery, he could easily remove this scar, but he had never done so.

He looked as if he wanted to remind him of something with this scar.

If his insecurity stemmed from his mother, what about her? She was also insecure because of Zachary’s betrayal and even afraid of being in a relationship again. She previously thought that she would spend the rest of her life alone and would never love again.

But now Jonathan made her feel secure again and made her want to love again.

“Why do you stare at me like that?” Jonathan raised his head slightly and met Rosalie’s eyes. Her eyes were filled with emotions such as love, sympathy, and others that he couldn’t understand.

Rosalie suddenly came back to her senses and shook her head. “Nothing, I just found that I loved you very much.” She bent

slightly and wrapped her hands around his neck. “Jon, I promise I’ll be nice to you all the time.”

If he was insecure, she was willing to give him a sense of security.

They appeared to be huddling for warmth. Not only did she feel warm from him, but she also wanted to give it to him.

His body shook slightly. He looked at her, dumbfounded, and then slowly grinned. “It’s a deal.”
