The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 407

Chapter 407

The car drove past her without stopping.

“This is the most normal ending, right? We have broken up with each other. From now on, we should cut ties with each other and live our lives separately,” Rosalie said to herself silently.

“Rosalie, what’s wrong with you? What are you looking at?” Lucas’ voice sounded in her ear again.

Rosalie withdrew her gaze and looked at Lucas again. “I’m not looking at anything. I have something else to do, so I need to go first!”

“Wait! Where are you going? I’ll drive you. My car is nearby,” Lucas said hurriedly.

“No, I can take the bus.”

business

“Well…” He hesitated for a moment, took out a business card from his pocket, and handed it to Rosalie. “This is my card with my contact information and the address where I work now. If you need any help, don’t hesitate to come to me!”

Rosalie looked at the man in front of her. Unlike his previous days at the Environment and Sanitation Administration, Lucas was no longer dressed in the transport crew’s workwear. Instead, he was wearing a suit. His hairstyle had also changed. She caught a glimpse of the title of automotive service director on the business card he handed her.

It seemed that he really started to do business.

It was just that, at this moment, he was looking at her with the same clear and bashful eyes as he did back in their days at the Environment and Sanitation Administration, filled with genuine respect.

Indeed, he looked at her with respect. At that time, while others looked down on her because she had been in prison and was doing the job of street sweeping, he had never done so.

Noticing that Rosalie hesitated to take the business card for a long moment, a trace of doubt crossed Lucas’ face. “Does something matter? Is there any inconvenience?”

Rosalie lowered her eyes, shook her head, and took the business card. “Nothing. I just didn’t expect you to become an automotive service director.”

“It is just a title on paper because I have invested some money in the company. I’m still in the early stages of my entrepreneurial journey,” Lucas explained with a shy smile.

Just as Rosalie was about to walk toward the station, as if he finally plucked up the courage, Lucas suddenly said, “By the way, you… Do you have a boyfriend? Or are you single?”

When he asked the question, a cool and gorgeous face suddenly flashed in his mind.

He wondered if the possessive man who had always stayed by Rosalie’s side and called her “Rosie” was still with her.

“I’m single now, but…” Rosalie looked at Lucas and said indifferently, “I don’t plan to find another boyfriend or date anymore.”

Hence, if Lucas had any lingering feelings for her, she wished he could let go and cease fixating on her because she would never be a good partner.

Rosalie hurried toward the station. She had another interview to go to today.

Meanwhile, Lucas gazed at Rosalie’s retreating figure, experiencing emotions he could not quite put into words.

He pondered, “Is that man already absent from her life?”

Carlos observed Jonathan’s silent presence in the car. An intense chill that permeated the entire cabin seemed to emanate from him, lowering the temperature significantly.

The car stopped at the company building. Jonathan got out of the car. Out of nowhere, someone bolted from the side, heading straight for Jonathan.

But the next moment, the security guards at the entrance of the building easily subdued that man.

It was a man about 30 years old, wearing ordinary clothes. After being subdued, he yelled at Jonathan, “It’s you! I heard that you were the one who blacklisted our goddess Yvette! Why did you blacklist her? She didn’t offend you! Isn’t her sister also your fiancée?”

The man shouted, wearing a determined expression as he fought for justice for the goddess who held a special place in his heart, pressing Jonathan for an explanation!

Carlos, at the side, was taken aback secretly. In fact, Yvette getting blacklisted was something related to Rosalie.

Now that Jonathan and Rosalie had broken up, everything related to Rosalie was taboo for Jonathan.

But then, there was this bold individual who dared to bring up Rosalie in front of Jonathan.

“Mr. Youngblood, let the police deal with it,” Carlos said and then asked the security guard to call the police.

However, the man continued to shout, “Fine, call the police if you want. I’m not afraid. I’m fighting for justice for Goddess Yvette. Jonathan, with your power, no one else is willing to stand up for her, but I want to speak up for her. Jonathan, someone like you has never truly loved another person. You don’t understand that one can be willing to sacrifice everything for the one they love. I can give up everything for Goddess Yvette!”

The man was obviously a fervent fan of Yvette.

Due to the commotion, several employees who were entering and exiting the building, as well as those at the reception, turned their attention toward the scene.
