The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 448

Chapter 448

“People like you wouldn’t feel this way, but I do. We are the same human beings, but some are superior and can easily control others, while some are ordinary and have to be controlled humbly. They can’t even control their own destiny and could only be toyed with by the others.”

If she were not the daughter of an ordinary family but a socialite from a prestigious family, then the blame for the car accident back then would not have been pinned on her, and the person who framed her wouldn’t dare to let her take the blame.

She had lived like an empty shell in the prison. How she lived every day depended on other people’s moods, and others could decide at will whether she would be beaten that day, behind which was no more than a word from the boss.

Jonathan looked at the woman in front of him with dark eyes. “How would you know that I don’t understand?” he said in a low voice, with a sarcastic smile on his lips.

She didn’t know that the reason why he had broken up with her and didn’t want to love again was that he didn’t want his destiny and life to be controlled by her. If he loved her too much, it would be like letting her control everything about him.

When Rosalie heard Jonathan’s words, doubts flashed in her eyes She thought, “He said it as if he understood how it felt, but he is the high and mighty Mr. Youngblood in Strico, and who can control his destiny, life, and death?”

“Mr. Youngblood, you must be kidding,” she said indifferently.

“I’ve told you to call me Jon.” He frowned slightly. “Last night, you hugged me and kept calling me Jon.”

Rosalie’s eyes widened, and she looked at him in disbelief, almost exclaiming how it could be possible.

“Don’t you believe me? How about I call Carlos for you, and you ask him personally? He heard it yesterday.” Jonathan asked, “Or, you can also ask Callum.”

Rosalie looked embarrassed. “I was… drunk yesterday.”

“So?”

“I was drunk, so I talked nonsense.”

“Why couldn’t it be uttering the truth after drinking?”

Rosalie almost choked on her own saliva and thought, “Uttering the truth after drinking? What have I said when I was drunk yesterday?”

It seemed he knew what she was thinking at the moment. He continued to gently rub her cold hands while saying, “Yesterday, you said that you liked Aplothian men with black hair and that my black hair was the most beautiful. You also said that I was good and that you liked me. You said you were my Rosie and would protect me.”

As Jonathan said that, Rosalie’s head lowered little by little until it almost reached her chest. “Goodness gracious, how could I say that!” she exclaimed inwardly.

“You… You don’t have to take my words seriously!” Rosalie said quickly.

“What if I want to take it seriously?” He pulled her hand to his lips and breathed gently as if that could make her hand warmer. “I don’t need to take what others say seriously, but I will take what you say seriously.”

As he spoke, his lips touched her hand, which had gradually been warmed up. “Don’t you want to be my Rosie? You wanted to be my Rosie when you were drunk. If you like, we can go back to the way we were before, or even, if you don’t want to go back to the Youngblood residence, I can live with you in the rental home as before.”

Rosalie was stunned. She suddenly raised her head and looked at him in surprise.

At that moment, his sexy thin lips pressed against her palm, and his gentle, warm breath brushed against her hand.

His handsome face with delicate facial features and his enchanting, gorgeous eyes merged elegance and sexiness into an extreme beauty, making it impossible to take one’s eyes off his face.

“Do I want to go back to that time and be his Rosie again?” Rosalie asked herself inwardly. Maybe that period was the warmest and most carefree for her.

At that time, she felt like she had a family and was no longer alone. She never expected love, and all she had wanted was family affection.

After a while, the surprise in her eyes slowly subsided, and she returned to calmness and indifference. “Jonathan, we have broken up, so it is impossible to go back to the way we were before. There is no need for you to insist on having me as your Rosie. If you want to be treated like a younger brother, I believe many women will be willing to be your older sister.”

Jonathan’s eyes turned cold, and his fingers unconsciously squeezed her hand tightly. Suddenly, Rosalie felt pain in her wrist.

“So, you’d rather be with someone like Lucas than me?” Jonathan said coldly.

“Don’t get him involved,” Rosalie said.

“What? Are you worried about him? Didn’t you just say that you don’t like him?” Jonathan said, “Even if we have broken up, why would you pick such a man? What exactly do you think is good about this kind of man?”

He was unhappy that she kept defending Lucas.
