The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 495

Chapter 495

The entertainment industry had always been a place full of gossip, so people began to make guesses in their hearts.

As for Lucas, who had caused this to happen, he was dazed and couldn’t quite come back to his senses.

He couldn’t figure out the relationship between Calvin and Rosalie.

He contemplated, “From how Calvin behaved just now, he behaved as if… the person he loved most was in danger!”

“The person he loved most?” Lucas thought, startled by the term that had popped up in his mind.

He didn’t understand why he thought of it that way. Everyone knew that Calvin changed girlfriends very quickly. He wondered if Calvin only seemed to be affectionate on the surface, but in reality, he was heartless.

Lucas couldn’t understand why a man like that would have a woman he loved most.

By the time Calvin entered the surveillance room, all relevant footage had been retrieved.

In the video, the actress Aubrielle talked to a man in a black T-shirt for about half a minute in front of the bathroom before the man left.

Meanwhile, Rosalie also appeared in the video. The video showed the man in the black T-shirt coming out of the bathroom. Then, the man quickly followed Rosalie and Lucas, tailing them.

As expected, there was something off about that man.

Calvin stared anxiously at the footage with his eyes. But then, Rosalie, Lucas, and that man in the black T-shirt walked somewhere off-camera. That was the end of the footage.

“No surveillance cameras were installed ahead of that, so we have no idea what happened after that. But a black car arrived at the scene three minutes later and then drove away immediately!”

As the person in charge spoke, he quickly switched to the footage that matched what was said.

Calvin squinted at the car and said, “Contact the Department of Transportation. I want to know where that car went in the end. Also, call the police right now!”

He wanted to know if Rosalie was in that car.

His heart kept beating wildly. He couldn’t understand what he was feeling. He didn’t even dare to imagine what would happen if Rosalie was attacked by that man and then forced into that car.

Calvin couldn’t bring himself to think of the consequences.

Fiona, who had followed Calvin to the surveillance room, asked with faked concern, “Calvin, could it be that Rosalie was kidnapped and put into the car?”

But in reality, Fiona was overjoyed in her heart.

It was great news for her that Rosalie was kidnapped. It would even be better for her if Rosalie died during the kidnapping. Then, she wouldn’t have to worry that Rosalie would tell Calvin the truth anymore.

She could always be Calvin’s savior, and she would use that reason to stay with Calvin forever.

Even if Rosalie didn’t die, Fiona would still be glad if Rosalie was humiliated or even disfigured. When that happened, she was sure that Calvin wouldn’t even want to look at Rosalie anymore!

Calvin pursed his thin lips tightly. He didn’t answer Fiona.

“I think we should leave the rest to the police to investigate. They should know what to do. Calvin, just calm down and drink some water for now! Fiona pretended to be considerate as she poured out a glass of water, handing it to Calvin.

“It’s okay. I can’t drink anything right now,” Calvin refused.

Fiona wouldn’t give up. She was trying to show how considerate she was, after all. So, she almost forced the glass of water into Calvin’s hand.

The glass trembled violently in Calvin’s hand, causing most of its contents to be spilled out at once.

Calvin was stunned for a moment. He seemed to be trying his best to hold the glass, but it only shook even more violently.

It was not the glass that was trembling, after all. It was his hand!

Calvin fixed his eyes on his hand that was holding the cup.

He had never been so flustered before. He felt as if his body was instinctively telling him that he couldn’t lose that person, no matter what happened!

Lucas spotted Rosalie at the police station. He thought that she would be hurt, but she was in a better condition than he had imagined. She was energetic and unharmed.

“I’m so sorry for worrying you,” Rosalie said apologetically. “My phone was broken from being stepped on, so I can’t make any calls. I don’t remember your number, either. Then, I took out my SIM card and inserted it into a phone I managed to get my hands on. That was when I finally managed to call you. It took me some time, though.”

Confused, Lucas asked, “What exactly is going on?”

“When I was waiting for you, I was thinking about the key point of the case. But then, this man suddenly rushed over to me and tried to spray something at me. But luckily… Well, someone saved me and subdued the man in time. Then, they brought him to the police station.” Rosalie’s voice paused slightly when she talked about someone helping her.

After all, she didn’t expect that two men would suddenly rush out of the shadows and subdue that man in an instant. She was startled, and her phone dropped to the ground in the process. Then, she just happened to step on her phone, breaking it.

As for the two men… They later told her that they were the people Jonathan had sent to protect her.

Before this, she did have a vague feeling that Jonathan had sent someone to watch over her. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have such a clear understanding of her every move. But it was not until then that she had confirmed her suspicions.
