The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 501

Chapter 501

Suddenly, he rose from his seat, leaned across the table, and extended his hand to grip hers.

“Ah!” she exclaimed and instinctively attempted to withdraw her hand.

However, his hand still firmly held hers, bringing her hand to rest upon his heart.

“Do you feel it? It’s beating faster than usual here,” he murmured as his thick eyelashes trembled slightly. “Do you know how fast it was beating here when I saw that man who meant you harm following you in the surveillance camera yesterday?”

He chuckled softly. It was as if he confessed and sighed at the same time. “It was beating so fast that it felt like my heart was on the verge of bursting, to the point where even breathing became a challenge. And these hands of mine trembled so much that I couldn’t even hold a glass of water.”

Each of his sentences delivered in that elegant tone gently penetrated her ears.

She stared at him in a daze, and every word he uttered at this moment felt like a heavy weight pressing on her heart.

“Rosalie, under such circumstances, do you still think I don’t love you?” His eyes gazed steadily at her, reflecting her shocked expression.

She had never expected him to utter such words to her.

Meanwhile, the hand resting against his chest seemed to gradually grow warm.

“You…” Her mouth opened as she attempted to say something, but at that moment, she couldn’t quite find the words to express herself.

He called her name and said, “Rosalie, you can doubt anything else, but the one thing you must not doubt is my love for you!”

Leaning gracefully by the simple small table, he placed Rosalie’s right hand firmly against his heart.

Rosalie stared at the man in a daze. Her delicate face displayed shock, confusion, and a more complex, indescribable emotion.

At this moment, both of them seemed to be in their own world and separated from their surroundings.

Meanwhile, the people who were dining in the diner had all turned their gaze toward them. There were even a few young female students who discreetly took out their phones to capture the scene.

Inside the restaurant, no one paid attention to the fact that several black cars had parked outside. A tall figure came to a stop as he reached the diner’s entrance.

His watery eyes were fixed firmly on the two individuals who were staring at each other. His complexion seemed to drain of color in a split second, turning incredibly pale, and his hand unconsciously reached for his heart.

Surges of stabbing pain radiated from his heart and spread across his entire body with each beat.

The pain was unbearable!

It hurt him so much!

Jonathan gritted his teeth, and his gaze fixed on the incredibly vivid sight before him.

“Was this also the pain she had caused me?” he thought to himself.

It came so swiftly and fiercely! The pain was almost unbearable for him!

He thought he no longer loved her and only considered her as a sister.

He couldn’t understand why just seeing her with Calvin hurt so much. It was even more intolerable than when he saw Calvin confess his love for her at the police station yesterday.

The bodyguard on the side quickly approached and asked, “Mr. Youngblood, are you okay?”

“Get everyone else in this diner out! Seal off the area outside the entrance within 30 feet!” Jonathan panted as he gave the order.

Yes, sir!” The bodyguard responded.

Following that, some people began negotiating with the diner owner, while others started escorting the customers out, declaring that everything they had eaten would be free of charge.

A few individuals were hesitant to leave, but as they watched more and more people in black suits entering, they couldn’t help but feel frightened and hastily left.

Calvin and Rosalie naturally saw Jonathan standing at the entrance of the diner.

Rosalie was a little surprised. She didn’t expect Jonathan to be here. Meanwhile, Calvin seemed to wear a knowing

expression. It was as if he had known that Jonathan would come

Calvin looked at Jonathan and said, “Would you like to join us for a meal? We’ve just placed our order, and the food hasn’t arrived yet. If you’d like to dine together, we might need to order a couple more dishes.”

Jonathan pursed his thin lips and walked toward the table step by step.

Rosalie instinctively withdrew her hand from Calvin’s grip.

This time, Calvin let go of her as she wished.

“Is the food ready yet?” Calvin asked the diner owner who was still in a daze.

The owner, snapping back to reality, hastily replied, “Oh, yes… It’s ready!” He quickly brought over the dishes that Calvin had ordered.

“Let’s add two more dishes,” Calvin suggested as he casually selected two items from the menu.

“Okay!” the diner owner hurriedly acknowledged and then rushed downstairs to prepare the two newly added dishes.

The only customers left in the diner were Calvin, Rosalie, and Jonathan.

The three of them stood around the small table, creating an oddly tense atmosphere.
