The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 512

Chapter 512

In Gunner Group, she couldn’t control where Calvin wanted to go.

In Gunner Group, Calvin couldn’t control where Rosalie went. So, when Calvin followed Rosalie to the company’s Legal Department, the entire department was astonished. The department head respectfully led them into the meeting room and nervously took the documents from Rosalie’s hand. He smiled awkwardly, “Thank you for your trouble. Next time, you can just call, and we can send someone to pick up the document.”

After all, Calvin accompanying a woman clearly indicated her importance in his eyes.

Even the department head couldn’t help but wonder if this woman was the one Calvin had mentioned in the interview.

When the interview came out, the entire company was shocked. Many people speculated about who Calvin could love.

Even though he had a string of girlfriends in the past, he had never used the word “love” with any of them.

So, many privately discussed whether someone like Calvin could truly fall in love with anyone.

No one knew Calvin would say that in the interview.

“Please take a look. Is this the document you need?” Rosalie reminded.

The department head checked the document. “Yes, this is the document we urgently need.”

“I’ve delivered the document, so I’ll be on my way,” Rosalie said as she turned to leave.

Calvin suddenly grabbed her arm and asked, “Leaving so soon?”

“Mr. Gunner, I’ve completed what I came here for,” Rosalie replied.

“But I still have a lot to say to you,” Calvin said.

When he saw the situation, the head of the Legal Department discreetly left the meeting room and closed the door behind

him.

Rosalie looked at the man in front of her with some exasperation.

“When Jonathan came the other day, there were many things I didn’t get a chance to say to you,” he said. “Would something to drink?”

“No, thank you. If you have something to say, please go ahead,” she replied..

Her cold demeanor made him furrow his brows slightly. “Are you treating me this way because you still love Jonathan?”

“I don’t love him,” she denied.

“Then why are you being so distant with me?” he asked. “Do you know that right now, you seem to be desperately implying that I shouldn’t fall in love with you?”

Rosalie was taken aback and looked at him with surprise.

“What’s wrong? Did I say something wrong? Do you not want me to fall in love with you?” He bent down, his dark eyes almost level with hers.

Her heart skipped a beat, and his gaze seemed to see right through her.

“Calvin.” Rosalie took a deep breath. She didn’t address him as “Mr. Gunner” this time but used his first name. “Yes, I hope you won’t fall in love with me. Right now, I just want to live a peaceful life. I don’t want to play any more love games.”

“But I’ve never considered falling in love with you as a game,” he said seriously. “If you feel that I haven’t been serious enough, then please tell me what I should do for you to believe that I’m serious.”

She bit her lip slightly. “I’m tired. I really don’t have the energy to love anymore.”

“In that case, let me love you. When you have the energy in the future, you can love me back. I just want you to stop rejecting me outright,” he said.

She looked at him, confused. “Why do you insist on pursuing me? I have no family background, I’ve been to prison for three years, and I’m not even the person you’ve been looking for.”

The second half of her sentence was said with a touch of guilt.
