The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 513

Chapter 513

“Should I go wait for him in his office?” Fiona suggested.

“I’m afraid that wouldn’t be appropriate, Ms. Haberly. It’s better to wait outside,” the secretary replied.

Fiona clenched her teeth and could only take a seat on the couch outside.

She felt that the secretary’s attitude toward her today was different from before. While she still appeared respectful on the surface and even poured her a cup of coffee when she sat down, there was no longer that sense of flattery.

“Was it because Calvin publicly stated in the interview that they weren’t in a romantic relationship?” As she thought of this, Fiona couldn’t help but feel irritated.

Just because Calvin said so, her classmates at school started mocking her, not to mention the snobbish people on the set.

Many people had initially praised her because of her relationship with Calvin, but now she felt like she had been pushed back to square one.

At that moment, Fiona noticed a high-ranking executive from the company walking out of the elevator and approaching the secretary’s desk. He asked, “Is Mr. Gunner not back yet?”

“Yes, I heard Mr. Gunner went to the Legal Department with someone,” the secretary replied.

“Yeah, he went to the Legal Department. Word is spreading in our department, and people are wondering if that woman is the one Mr. Gunner mentioned in the interview, the one he’s in love with. I mean, when have you ever seen Mr. Gunner accompany a woman to the Legal Department?” The executive couldn’t resist gossiping.

“What kind of person is she?” the secretary asked curiously.

“I heard she’s a legal assistant from a law firm, but I don’t know the details.”

“It must be Rosalie!” Fiona concluded inwardly as she listened. “Calvin had placed all his attention on Rosalie. No, I can’t let this continue. If Calvin ends up with Rosalie, then in the future, I will have no place by his side!”

Rosalie was somewhat surprised when she left Gunner Group and found herself confronted by Fiona..

“Rosalie, what a coincidence, running into you here,” Fiona said with a smile.

“A coincidence?” Rosalie thought as she raised an eyebrow. She didn’t think it was much of a coincidence to see her cousin as soon as she left the building.

“Do you need something, Fiona?” Rosalie asked directly.

“It’s not a big deal, but since we ran into each other, how about finding a place to sit and chat?” Fiona invited.

“No, thanks. It’s my working hours now, and I have to get back to the law firm,” Rosalie declined. “If you don’t have any urgent matters, I’ll be on my way.”

“Wait!” Fiona hurriedly called out. “I-I wanted to ask you about your relationship with Calvin.”

Rosalie looked at Fiona and thought, “I’m afraid this is the real reason why Fiona blocked me here.”

“I think that’s my personal business,” Rosalie said. In other words, she had no comment.

“Rosalie, that day at the police station, Calvin said he was in love with you. So, what are your feelings for him? And I noticed. that Mr. Jonathan Youngblood seems to care about you a lot. Have you really broken up with him?” Fiona asked carefully.

Rosalie simply looked at Fiona and didn’t answer.

Fiona showed an awkward expression and said, “Rosalie, you know, I don’t have a high level of education, and I’ve made mistakes in the past, but now Calvin is the only one I can rely on, and these days, I really like him.”

She continued as she blushed slightly, “You still have Jonathan, but I only have

will you?”

Rosalie stared at Fiona until the latter felt guilty.

Calvin. You won’t take Calvin away from me,

“Rosalie, why are you staring at me? I know I said something that upset you in the past, but I’m being sincere now.”

“Fiona, are you hoping I’ll answer that I don’t love Calvin, that I have no feelings for him? So that you can feel at ease? At least you can stand on the moral high ground, and if I do develop feelings for Calvin in the future, you can use my words against me?” Rosalie asked.

Fiona’s expression revealed that Rosalie had hit the mark. That was indeed her original intention.

“Fiona, do you not find it ridiculous? You need someone else’s commitment for your own feelings. For the sake of Granny, I’ll remind you once more. Calvin is not so easily deceived. If you withdraw now, you might still have a chance. But the more you gain, the worse it will be in the future…” said Rosalie.

If a man like Calvin found out he had been deceived, the consequences would undoubtedly be dire for Fiona.

“What do you mean by that?” Fiona immediately changed her expression. “Are you threatening me? As long as you don’t say anything, everything between me and Calvin will be fine.”
