The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 517

Chapter 517

Rosalie had returned alone those days, which was fine, but it so happened that Calvin sent her home that day. At that moment, Calvin held Rosalie’s hands as they looked at each other, making them look like a couple.

Carlos only hoped that Calvin and Rosalie would separate quickly. He wondered what Jonathan would do if they stayed there like that.

Rosalie walked to the rental home with a box of pancakes. Then, she took the key from her bag and opened the door. Just when she was about to push the door open, someone else’s hand did that ahead of her.

Rosalie was startled and turned around hurriedly, only to see that Jonathan had stood behind her at some point.

“When did you come here?” she asked in surprise.

That day, he wore a thin, light-colored sweater and black trousers. Coupled with his handsome face, he looked like a gentle and noble young man. However, his face was grim, tinged with depression, struggle, and hostility.

She instinctively felt a sense of crisis, as if the man before her, at that moment, was dangerous, and she might be hurt if she was not cautious.

“Why? Won’t you invite me in?” His cold voice sounded slowly.

“It’s getting late now…” She wanted to reject him, but he leaned closer to her.

Rosalie subconsciously stepped back while Jonathan stepped forward until he entered the house and closed the door of the rental home.

Bang!

With the sound of the door closing, the room suddenly became extremely quiet.

Rosalie took a deep breath and asked, “What’s the matter?”

Jonathan’s eyes fell on the takeout box in her hand. “Did Calvin give this to you? Were you with him today?”

Rosalie was startled. Then, she realized he might have seen Calvin walk her to the door just then.

“Did you two have dinner together?” Jonathan asked again and continued to lean closer to her.

She kept stepping back until her back pressed against the wall with nowhere to retreat.

Jonathan put his hands on the wall on both sides of her body and lowered his head. His charming eyes had turned deep then. “Are you attracted to Calvin?”

Rosalie bit her lips slightly. “No! Is that enough? I want to rest.”

She raised her hands to push him away, but the next moment, her hands were grabbed by his. His fingertips gently stroked her hands, and he murmured, “When he touched you here earlier, you didn’t resist. Since you have no feelings for him, why did you let him hold your hand like that?”

It was because it was Calvin. At that moment, she could not help wondering whether her life would be different if she had never lost that memory or had recalled that past event of her childhood before the car accident.

“Even if I have no feelings for him, it doesn’t mean he can’t hold my hand. Just like now, I have no feelings for you either, but

you also holding my hand?” Rosalie retorted.

Jonathan’s expression changed instantly, and he pulled her into the bathroom.

Rosalie struggled and shouted, “Jonathan, what are you doing?”

Jonathan turned on the faucet on the sink, and water immediately flowed out of it.

He

put

her hands under the faucet, soaped them with soap, and washed them over and over again as if he was going to rinse off all the traces, breath, and warmth left by Calvin on her hands.

Rosalie wanted to pull her hands out of Jonathan’s but could not. She did not know how many times her hands had been washed, but they were beginning to hurt. “Jonathan, that’s enough! What exactly do you want?”

Jonathan then turned off the faucet, picked up the towel beside the sink, and carefully dried her hands. “Next time, don’t let Calvin touch your hands again.”

When he thought of the scene he saw at the entrance of the residential area earlier, he could not bear it, and his body seemed to be filled with jealousy. He was afraid that she would really fall in love with Calvin.

“And next time, don’t say anything that will make me angry,” he added.

Rosalie was stunned for a while before she let out a laugh. “Should I still be in love with you after we have broken up?”

The movements of his hands paused, and Jonathan raised his eyes to meet her calm eyes.

The initial panic in those eyes he was familiar with was gone, leaving only calmness.

However, at that moment, the calmer she was, the more flustered he became.
