The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 574

Chapter 574

“How could this happen? What was wrong with Joseph? He should have been completely under the drug influence by now. And yet, he couldn’t even overpower a woman?” Fiona exclaimed in her heart.

Rosalie was equally stunned. She hadn’t expected to see Calvin when the door opened.

“Why… are you here?” Rosalie asked, her voice filled with surprise.

Calvin regained his senses and hurried over to Rosalie. “Are you okay? Did anything happen?”

“I’m fine, just…”

Before Rosalie could finish her words, Calvin had already noticed the tears in her shirt sleeves. They were not immediately apparent unless upon closer inspection. “What is this?” he asked.

“He grabbed me a few times when he got close,” Rosalie replied. She knew the shirt was probably ruined as the tears were quite visible, and repairing it would be difficult.

Calvin’s expression darkened as he gently pushed up Rosalie’s sleeve and saw the obvious scratches on her arm.

The sight irritated him.

He didn’t know how she had managed to save herself, but if that man with only a pair of underpants had succeeded… He didn’t even want to think about the consequences.

Just then, Joseph suddenly rolled over and staggered to his feet. He stumbled toward Rosalie and mumbled, “I… need it. Please give it to me… I can’t bear it…

Joseph was now completely under the influence of drugs and couldn’t distinguish one thing from another. He only had an instinctive desire to find a woman to relieve himself.

Calvin watched as Joseph rushed toward Rosalie. He immediately grabbed him and attacked him without hesitation.

Despite his right hand being bandaged, his left hand showed no mercy.

The spectators, who had come to watch the commotion, were shocked to see the usually composed and elegant Calvin acting so ruthlessly.

They wondered if he was really Calvin.

Even if he wanted to harm someone, he could do so in countless other ways without personally resorting to violence. This direct and forceful approach was out of character.

“Stop!” Rosalie hurriedly intervened, pulling Calvin’s hand away.

She had actually witnessed Calvin engaging in a physical fight the last time at the charity banquet. And now, this was the second time. “He probably consumed some sort of drug, and he might have done something himself without even realizing

it!”

Calvin turned around and looked at Rosalie. “But he almost…”

“He might also be a victim, and besides, I only have a few scratches on my arm. It’s nothing serious,” Rosalie reassured him.

In her heart, she already had a good guess about who had orchestrated this whole thing.

Finally, Calvin stopped attacking Joseph. The police and paramedics had also arrived by this time.

As soon as the paramedics saw Joseph’s condition, they immediately placed him on a stretcher. “Who called for an ambulance earlier?”

“It’s me!” Rosalie quickly replied. She then explained how she had discovered Joseph’s condition earlier and briefly described it to the paramedics. She also shared her speculation that he might have been drugged.

After that, the paramedics swiftly carried Joseph away. Then, Rosalie turned to the two police officers who had entered the room. “I also called the police earlier. That man was drugged, and when I came to the lounge, someone had locked the door from the outside.”

Calvin was puzzled. When he had pushed the door open earlier, it hadn’t been locked from the outside.

“In that case, let’s head to the police station first,” one of the officers suggested.

“All right,” Rosalie agreed.

“I’ll go with you,” Calvin said, holding onto Rosalie’s hand.

“No need, I can go on my own,” Rosalie replied.

However, Calvin didn’t let go of her. Instead, he insisted, “I’ll accompany you! I can be considered the first witness after the door was opened. His charming eyes stared directly at her, as if he would continue to insist if she refused.

Rosalie couldn’t refuse and nodded in agreement.

Even if she had refused, Calvin could have gone to the police station on his own if he wanted to. Moreover, as he had mentioned, he was one of the first witnesses after the door was opened.

Calvin glanced at the crowd outside the door and then pulled Rosalie behind him. “Stay behind me, and follow as I walk.”

“Huh?” Rosalie was momentarily taken aback, but Calvin had already led her forward.

There were many people in the vicinity, including members of the film crew, shoppers, and a multitude of fans of the celebrities involved in the film shoot, all staring in their direction.

Even though some security guards were guarding and clearing a path, there were always people trying to push through. Some even pointed their phones at Rosalie, wanting to take pictures.
