Chapter 706
How could he have let Aiden hear this?
“Mommy… Does Daddy hate me?” Aiden’s childish voice sounded. His dark eyes looked at Warren and then Amelia.
In an instant, Warren felt awkward.
His son’s eyes were no longer full of admiration and attachment as before, only hurt and distant.
It was only then he realized what he had just said!
“T-Take the child away first!” Warren said to his subordinate, who had followed him.
The man replied in the affirmative and quickly picked up Aiden. No matter how hard the child struggled and shouted, it was utterly useless.
“What the hell are you going to do to Aiden?” Amelia hissed angrily, trying to take back her son, but Warren grabbed her arm tightly.
“Aiden is my son, and I won’t hurt him. You, on the other hand, must apologize to Irene and the Fletcher family now!” Warren said.
Then, he dragged Amelia to the exit of the small park and ordered his two other men to deal with the aftermath of the commotion.
After all, their argument had attracted the attention of many people around them. Amelia was practically dragged by Warren into the car outside the park. She watched as one of his men headed off in another direction with Aiden still in his
arms.
“Warren, where the hell are you taking Aiden? If anything were to happen to Aiden, I’ll haunt you even after my death!” She stared at him with hatred, hating her current helplessness.
The door was locked, and she couldn’t break free from his grip at all!
“As I said, I won’t hurt him. I simply had my man take him back to your house. Do you want Aiden to see your apology later and know more about the vicious things that you did?” With that, Warren ordered the driver to drive.
Amelia stopped struggling upon hearing that Aiden was only being sent back home and looked at Warren with a disappointed and mocking look. “You said you wouldn’t hurt Aiden, but what you just said in front of him has already hurt him.” Warren pursed his thin lips, feeling uncomfortable. “He is just a child, and he will forget it in the blink of an eye.
“You don’t know how much you hurt Aiden today…”, she murmured. “I thought you would have some sincerity for your own son, at least, but… It appears I was too naive…”

She thought, ‘Aiden’s place in Warren’s heart can’t even compare to one finger of Irene’s child. Besides, Warren is a man who demands perfection. Since Aiden has a disability, how good could he be to Aiden?
Should I really give Aiden to Warren? Maybe… From the beginning, I shouldn’t have entrusted Aiden to this man.’
Warren said unhappily, “You don’t get to say whether I’m sincere to Aiden or not. I’m the one who was naive for thinking you would behave yourself after coming out of prison!”
“You are too naive,” she said indifferently, thinking that this man was utterly ridiculous! He was supposed to be so shrewd, and he was able to bring glory to the York family again in such a short time.
Yet, for all that, he allowed himself to be fooled by Irene and believed everything she said without fail.
If they were talking about facts, then it was her who donated her bone marrow to him all those years ago! She gave him a second chance at life, yet he sent her to prison in return!
Was there anything more ironic in the world? She saved someone but ended up hurting herself.
“Warren, why do you believe Irene so much? Is it because she donated bone marrow and saved your life?” she questioned abruptly.
Immediately, Warren frowned. “How do you know about that?” Supposedly, only the Fletcher and York families knew about this matter as they hadn’t disclosed the matter to the public.
“If I said the person who saved you was not her, would you believe me?” she asked. “Are you trying to slander Irene again? Amelia, are you itching to go to jail again?” He scolded impatiently, “I don’t care how you know about it, but I warn you not to drive a wedge in the relationship between me and Irene!”
As he spoke, he suddenly seized her chin. His eyes were cold, and his voice was equally icy as he went on, “If the person who saved me is not Irene, who else could it be? You? I swore that I would protect, love, and be loyal to her for the rest. of my life, so you can stop dreaming!”
At his words, Amelia burst into laughter, growing progressively louder.
“Stop laughing!” he shouted, somehow finding her laughter incredibly grating. Even so, Amelia didn’t stop laughing, even beginning to cry.
“Enough! Stop laughing!” He suddenly stretched out his hand and covered her lips, blocking all sounds from leaving her mouth.
He didn’t want to hear her laughter anymore. Her laughter grated on him like nails on a chalkboard and sent pain stabbing into his heart.
Her lips pressed against his palm, but instead of warmth, they held a chill.

It was not until then that he discovered her skin was so cold, and her face was deathly pale as if there were no traces of blood in it.
They looked at each other. Her eyes were indifferent and cold, with tears still shedding from the corner of her eyes. Those were the tears she had just laughed
