Chapter 71
“It seems that the reporter was not aware of Ms. Leighton’s imprisonment years ago but just knew her name and thought it was your scandal,” Carlos said.
Jonathan instructed coldly. “Keep questioning him and only let him go after everything is clear. Since he claimed that he saw it on the internet, go find out who saw it and posted it!”
“Understood,” Carlos answered.
When Jonathan pushed open the ward door and looked at the person eating oatmeal on the bed, he wondered, “Could it be a coincidence about the reporter? Someone just happened to see us, or… Could it be something else?”
Rosalie looked up and saw Jonathan. His expression was gloomy, with a faint hostile aura emanating from his body. At once, she was somewhat shocked and stared at him blankly
In an instant, Jonathan’s hostility disappeared. A faint smile appeared on his handsome face, as usual.
“Rosie, what’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like this?” he asked.
She shook her head hesitantly and answered, “Nothing.”
At that moment, all she could think about was how strange the person in front of her was, or maybe… That was the real him. And now, this man who smiled at her like a kind angel was just an illusion.
Zendaya had been in a bad mood since she realized Jonathan was helping Rosalie.
It also meant that she couldn’t take revenge on anyone for her leg injury.
Her hospitalization with a broken leg had become a gossip in her socialite circle. If her leg couldn’t heal in the future, then she would truly become an eternal joke.
It was all because of Rosalie. How could she have turned out this way if it hadn’t been for Rosalic?
Moreover, Rosalie didn’t reveal her relationship with Jonathan Zendaya was skeptical that Rosalie was deliberately remaining silent and acting weak. Then, Rosalie tricked her into taking action so Rosalie could ask Jonathan to take revenge on her.
The more Zendaya thought about it, the angrier she became.
Today, a friend reserved a private room here to relieve her boredom. However, because she was on crutches, it was difficult for her to entertain herself.
Just as Zendaya left the private room on crutches, she saw a group of people walking toward her. One of them looked familiar to her.
At this moment, the man in charge of the group noticed Zendaya and immediately approached her with a smile. ‘Ms. Xanthos, 1 didn’t expect to see you here. Is your leg injured? Oh no, we should have visited you.”
The man babbled flatteringly, but Zendaya didn’t recognize who it was. Then, he introduced hirhself, “I am Sylvester, the director of Petra Design Institute No. 2. We have business with Xanthos Group, I met Ms. Xanthos several times at Xanthos Group parties.”
Although Zendaya couldn’t recall seeing this person, she knew Petra Design Institute was just a small design institute. As the boss was related to a relative of the Xanthos family, sometimes some unimportant designs of the Xanthos family would be assigned to the design institute.
“Are you going to have dinner together? May 1 join you? I’m free now,” Zendaya suddenly asked.
The director of Petra Design Institute No. 2 was overjoyed as if gold had struck. “Certainly… No problem. That’d be great!”
Zendaya pursed her lips and smiled. She glanced at one of the persons standing behind the director. Zendaya remembered that this womari had gone shopping with Rosalie that day. She was Rosalie’s friend. She should have vented her rage on her friend since she couldn’t do it to Rosalie.
When Lillian met Zendaya’s gaze, an unsettling feeling surged through her heart.
Not long after that, as expected, Zendaya toasted with everyone shortly after having dinner together. Because her leg was injured, everyone walked to Zendaya and took turns toasting with her.
While Lillian was toasting, Zendaya deliberately swung her hand. Zendaya’s wine glass fell to the ground, splashing over her shoe on her uninjured foot.
Zendaya said, “Even if you don’t want to give me a toast, you don’t have to knock off my wine glass intentionally. If you don’t want me to join you for dinner, you can just say so. I’ll leave.”
Lillian looked at Zendaya coldly, and Sylvester anxiously stopped Zendaya from leaving. He asked Lillian to admit her mistake, regardless of who was right or wrong.
“Lillian, apologize to Ms. Xanthos!”

Chapter 71
“Exactly. Lillian, apologize to Ms. Xanthos now!” all of her colleagues agreed with Sylvester.
Everyone could tell Zendaya was looking for trouble, but no one dared to offend Zendaya. She was a member of the Xanthos family. They were afraid that if they offended the Xanthos family, they might lose their current job.
Lillian stood straight and stared at Zendaya without saying a word.
The director pulled Lillian aside and whispered, “Lillian, are you going to implicate everyone? Are you going to make everyone lose their jobs during the New Year?”
Lillian gritted his teeth, then slowly stepped forward and lowered her head. “Ms. Xanthos, I’m sorry. It was my fault.”
Zendaya grinned. “Since you know it’s your fault, you should make up for it. My shoe is dirty now. Clean my shoe, and I’ll forget about this.”
