The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 72

Chapter 72

She stood up, and her hand naturally lifted upwards with her body, while Zendaya did not expect Lillian’s move and fell to the ground off guard. The chair that Zendaya was originally sitting on also fell on her body, pressing on her injured foot, which was still recovering from injury.

Immediately, Zendaya let out a painful howl. After seeing that, the others hurriedly stepped forward to help her up.

“Lillian, don’t you want this job anymore? How could you do this to Ms. Xanthos?” Sylvester scolded Lillian angrily.

Lillian sneered and said, “I really don’t want this job anymore. I have had enough of it! I just want to get a salary and not sacrifice myself to the design institute. Why should I suffer this?”

Zendaya shouted angrily. “Don’t think you can just resign so easily! I will sue you! I’ll sue you for intentional assault!”

“Okay, I will also sue you for intentional assault. I’ll go to the hospital for an injury examination now!” Lillian shook her injured hand in front of Zendaya.

When Lillian saw that Zendaya was arrogant, the former acted even more arrogantly than her.

Zendaya was so mad. She thought confidently. “I can’t handle Rosalie, but can’t 1 handle her friend instead?”

“I’m telling you, don’t think you will be fine as Rosalie has Jonathan’s support. Do you think Jonathan will support you, too? Dream on! Heh, Jonathan must be just playing around with Rosalie. Rosalie killed Melanie back then. Do you think Jonathan. will have feelings for a woman who killed his fiancée?”

After hearing that, Lillian was stunned on the spot.

“Jonathan… and Rosalie? she thought confusedly. Then she asked Zendaya, “What do you mean by these words? Why does Jonathan support Rosalie? What do you mean by Jonathan is just playing around with Rosalie?” Lillian strode forward and stared at Zendaya.

At that moment, Zendaya also realized she had accidentally spilled the beans. Zachary had told her not to say it before.

“1… I don’t know what you are talking about.” Zendaya hurriedly got up and left quickly with her crutch and the help of the housekeeper.

Sylvester followed her hurriedly as if he wanted to put some good words.

The colleagues who stayed at the dining table kept pointing at Lillian’s fault. But at that moment, Lillian did not bother to pay attention to those people. She was only thinking about what Zendaya had said a moment ago.

*Is Jonathan really together with Rosalie? If it’s true, then why won’t Rosalie tell me? Lillian thought.

Moreover, in Lillian’s view, Rosalie was just a general worker in the Environment and Sanitation Administration. Her daily life simply consisted of commuting between her workplace and her rental home. With such a working environment, she did not have time or any chance to get in contact with Jonathan.

Besides that, in the past six months since Rosalie was released from prison, the man who got in touch with Rosalie the most was only “Jon,” who was brought back home by her.

When the name “Jon” flashed through Lillian’s mind, she suddenly froze.

Jon… Jonathan… Could it be that… Is that possible? Could this kind of thing happen? If Jon’ is really Jonathan, why would he stay by Rosalie’s side as a vagrant? What is he plotting?” Lillian went into deep thought.

Lillian’s mind was in a chaotic mess at that moment.

Rosalie was able to walk slowly by herself the next day.

She was not as weak as the first day. Her phone had been called from time to time by the relatives on her mother’s side.

And their purposes were various. Some pleaded for Daniel and hoped for her to withdraw the case, while some asked her about the identity of the big shot that took her away from the Foster residence that day.

After all, so many police cars surrounded the Foster residence. All the neighbors around them had seen it.

Some even asked Rosalie to borrow money, saying that since she had known a big shot, she should have a lot of money to borrow them. Hence, they rationalized their intentions by telling her it was appropriate for her to help relatives.

Rosalie was speechless. She did not even know who “Jon,” as the “big shot” they mentioned, really was. However, after hearing those people’s words, she finally figured out some information that Jon did not say. She knew how she was rescued from the Foster residence that night.

Rosalie walked out of the ward and slowly walked in the corridor. She said to the nurse in charge of taking care of her, “You don’t have to follow ine. I want to take a walk here by myself.” She felt awkward that someone was constantly following her

around.

The nurse agreed and left her alone.

Meanwhile, the bodyguards who had been guarding the ward door did not say anything after seeing that. After all, Rosalie had been walking back and forth several times in the corridor since that morning.

When Rosalie walked to the exit passageway in the stairwell, she saw Jonathan standing at the staircase while making a phone call through the glass door.

He was holding a cigarette in his hand and leaning against the wall in the corner. From her angle, she saw his back with well-proportion: The curve of his neck looked good, with wide shoulders, a wiry waist, and long legs. He was wearing a suit that fit him. Even if it was just such a casual posture, it made him give off a model aura, like he was shooting a poster cover.

She was still thinking that she wanted to save money to buy him a suit in the future. She wanted to see how he looked in formal attire, but she did not expect it would be under such circumstances when she really saw him wearing a suit.
