The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 727

Chapter 727

Warren suddenly smiled with a hint of helplessness as if he were on the verge of tears. “Jonathan, do you know how much I envy you? You get to be with Rosalie, but Amelia and I…”

Jonathan pressed his thin lips.

Warren shifted his drunken gaze away from Jonathan’s face. After a while, he redirected his attention to Rosalie.

“Rosalie, y-you’re Amelia’s friend. Tell me, what on earth should I do to make her accept my liver and proceed with the surgery…” he said unsteadily, his voice getting hoarse.

Rosalie was stunned. “What happened? You told Amelia that you’re willing to donate your liver to her, but she declined the offer?”

Warren suddenly smiled bitterly, and his eyes turned bloodshot. “Yes, she refused to accept it. S-She doesn’t want a part of me in her body. She would rather die than carry my liver!”

Warren’s foremost desire was for her to live and lead a fulfilling life, regardless of whether she forgave him or not. His sole wish was for her well-being and happiness.

Rosalie’s expression took a sudden serious turn. Liver transplantation had become the only viable option for Amelia’s survival. She found it astonishing that Amelia was unwilling to accept Warren’s liver, despite his willingness to be a donor. “R-Rosalie, please, tell me. What should I do? If half of my liver isn’t enough, I can donate my entire liver to her…” Warren’s desperation was evident in his voice. Looking at Warren’s face, Rosalie felt angry and upset at the same time. “Warren, if you had acted differently, things might not have turned out like this. Amelia wouldn’t be so stubborn if you hadn’t hurt her repeatedly,” Rosalie admonished him.

“Yes, it’s all my fault! Things might not have turned out like this if I had acted differently.” Warren choked with sobs, swung his fist, and thumped his chest. “She said she didn’t want to see me even after death. She hates me. She hates me…”

Tears gushed out of Warren’s eyes, and in an instant, his entire face was soaked with tears.

Warren was no longer the man who was high and mighty. At that point, he was nothing more than an abandoned child.

He started crying aloud. “Would she just turn a blind eye to me if I fell dead in front of her? B-But I love her. I love her very much…”

Warren felt as if he was about to let loose all his pent-up emotions.

He burst into tears, his voice hoarse, and his appearance disheveled.

“Warren, things wouldn’t have turned out this way if you had shown Amelia some mercy. Unfortunately, the damage you’ve caused is irreversible. No matter how you express your love for her, it’s too late to change anything now.” Rosalie’s voice reverberated in the air.

Jonathan, who stood beside Rosalie, suddenly shuddered and looked at her with a stunned expression.

Suddenly, Jonathan felt a trace of panic. His body trembled slightly, and he redirected his attention to Warren, who was crying bitterly and consumed by

endless regret.

At that moment, he had a sinking feeling that his own fate might parallel what Warren was experiencing now. Nevertheless, Jonathan vowed in his heart he would never turn into someone like him in the future.

After instructing the housekeepers to take care of Warren, Jonathan returned to the bedroom with Rosalie.

“I don’t understand Warren. He was incredibly cruel to Amelia from the start, and now he’s crying like this. Does he believe that by falling apart emotionally like this, he can undo all the pain he inflicted in the past? If only forgiveness were that simple!” Rosalie muttered.

She was still furious about what he had done to Amelia. She held the opinion that if Warren had truly loved Amelia, he would not have caused her so much pain, and she believed that crying would not change anything at this point.

The next moment, Jonathan wrapped his arms around Rosalie from behind, holding her close. He gently whispered into her ear, “What if I were in Warren’s shoes? If one day, I did something terrible and ended up crying like that, would you forgive me?”

Rosalie chuckled. “What are you talking about? I’m talking about Warren. Why did you bring yourself into the story? Besides, why would you cry if you didn’t do anything wrong?”

“I mean what if I did?” he inquired in a low voice, gently nibbling her earlobe.

He was so attached to her that he was afraid of losing her.

Her body trembled, and a deep blush crept onto her cheeks. She could clearly feel his lips brushing against her ear, and she could not help but wonder if he knew that these small gestures had the power to arouse her.

Rosalie turned around and stared at him with blushed cheeks.

“Will you forgive me? Or will you be like Amelia who treated Warren like that, refusing to see me even after death…” He could not bring himself to continue, fearing that speaking such a possibility might make it come true.

Jonathan had also become paranoid, though he was not sure when it started.

Anything that concerned Rosalie seemed to make Jonathan extremely anxious and lose himself.

At that moment, Rosalie could not help but be drawn into Jonathan’s beautiful puppy-like eyes, which held a hint of sadness.

It seemed that since she became pregnant, her maternal instincts had grown stronger. Looking into his pitiful eyes, she could not help but feel that Jonathan was on the verge of breaking down, and she felt a deep sympathy for him.
